Heartfelt Homesteading is a family endeavor that started as hobbies and has grown to more than we ever imagined. Homesteading is a way of life for us. We have always tried to be as self sufficient as possible. We are lucky to have land to pursue our hobbies on, but it is possible to do many of the things we do without a lot of land. n enjoying woodworking since he was in high school and believe me that was a while ago. He has taught all of his children plus anyone else interested woodworking, my favorite woodworking project is making picture frames they make wonderful Christmas presents. His favorite project at this time is lamps; they are turned on the lathe and made with a variety of different woods. As he says there is always more to learn. He got interested in the beekeeping 15 years ago; it started with he and mom working in the bees to being a family affair. Some of us enjoy it more than others. Mom and I enjoy making the beeswax candles and cooking with the honey. My latest project has been the goats milk soap after a lot of research and finally finding a recipe that worked for me. I really enjoy making new types and fragrances of soap and it is so good for the skin. My other interests include raising and showing chickens along with raising my dairy and meat goats.
