No surprise from me. Our AVA is getting national attention! What is most remarkable about the West Elks AVA is that when visiting wineries, you're interacting more often than not with the winegrower and winemaker.

Colorado wine may not boast the notoriety of other well known grape-growing regions, but one Western Slope area has landed near the top of the country’s best wine regions.

Heck of a year for the North Fork Valley growers due to drought and extreme temperatures this spring. The Storm Cellar is meeting the challenge head on having survived the onslaught, and is even planting new vines; with a bit of understandable worry. I have no doubt their efforts will bring rewards!

The Storm Cellar is hoping to weather another storm this summer.
