🔥🥬 Back with another one of those side dishes you’ll want to show off — Crispy Brussels Sprouts with Whipped Feta & Chili Oil!
We’re getting those Brussels sprouts golden and crispy with caramelized shallots, then serving them over a cool, creamy bed of lemony whipped feta. Finish it all with a drizzle of chili oil and good olive oil for a little heat and richness.
Crispy, creamy, tangy, and spicy all in one bite. It looks fancy enough for the holiday table but is easy enough to make alongside a weeknight steak. 🔥
Crispy Brussels Sprouts with Whipped Feta & Chili Oil
Ingredients
* 1 bag Brussels sprouts
* 1 block feta cheese
* 1 cup sour cream
* ¼ cup heavy cream
* 1 lemon, juiced and zested
* 1 shallot, thinly sliced
* Salt, pepper, garlic & dried parsley, to taste
* Chili oil, for finishing
* Olive oil
Directions
1. Microwave the Brussels sprouts in the bag for about 3 minutes to give them a head start. Poke a few holes in the bag before microwaving.
2. Trim off the tough ends and cut the sprouts in half. Quarter any especially large ones.
3. Heat a generous drizzle of olive oil in a large oven-safe skillet until very hot and just below the smoking point.
4. Add the sliced shallot and cook until browned. Add the Brussels sprouts and let them develop a deep golden crust on multiple sides. Season with salt, pepper, garlic, and parsley.
5. Transfer the skillet to a 425°F oven, using convection if available, and roast until the Brussels sprouts are crispy and cooked to your liking.
6. For the whipped feta, add the crumbled feta, sour cream, heavy cream, juice from half the lemon, about ¼ of the lemon zest, salt, and pepper to a food processor. Blend until smooth and creamy.
7. Spread a generous layer of whipped feta across a serving plate and pile the crispy Brussels sprouts on top.
8. Finish with chili oil, a drizzle of olive oil, and a little extra lemon zest.
That whipped feta underneath catches all that chili oil and crispy Brussels goodness — don’t skip dragging every bite through it. 🌶️🍋🔥
