Today, AUC Group had the privilege of celebrating National Bring Your Child to Work Day, welcoming 22 kids ranging in age from 2 to 17 into our offices for a day of learning, creativity, and connection.

We kicked things off with an energetic round of Simon Says led by our CEO, Dan Kennedy, followed by an introduction to personal protective equipment (PPE) and an overview of the wastewater treatment process. From there, the kids rotated through department‑led activity stations, each designed to "reflect" the work our teams do every day:

📃 Contracts & Legal: Word search challenge

🔎 Finance: Guess the number of items in the jar

🧩 Project Management: Puzzles featuring our treatment plants

🔑 Design Office: Personalized engraved keychains

🧢 Marketing: Custom pressed hats

👾 Engineering: “Pac‑Man” (aka eating the bugs) through a wastewater treatment plant cycle

🖍️ CAD: Plant drawings with a coloring legend

The day flew by, and the kids headed home with great prizes, swag, and—most importantly—memories and bonding time that will last a lifetime.

A huge thank you to everyone who showed up, got creative, and put so much thought into their activities. Days like this highlight the heart of our culture and the people who make AUC Group such a special place to work.

Some days at work involve spreadsheets…

Today involved dog walks, wagging tails, and lots of pets 🐶❤️

Our team spent the day volunteering at Special Pals, a no-kill shelter that does amazing work caring for animals and helping them find forever homes.

It was a great reminder of how small acts of time and care can make a big difference—for people and pups alike. And who knows… there might have been an adoption or two 🐾

In anticipation of the Super Bowl this weekend, AUC hosted its first-ever SOUPER Bowl competition! 🏈🍲

Team members brought in a wide variety of soups for everyone to taste and vote on. Huge congratulations to Tony Ortiz for taking home the win with his championship chili! 🥇🔥

We’re starting off 2026 with health top of mind at AUC Group. 💪

This month, we’re excited to kick off our annual “Biggest Loser” challenge, along with step and workout competitions—with winners to be announced in March!

We also hosted a Wellness Fair yesterday, welcoming local health vendors to support our team in living their best lives. A big thank you to the incredible vendors who provided resources and services, including dental support, nutrition guidance, posture assessments, stretching service, blood pressure checks, hydration education, and massages.

Oh, what fun! AUC’s annual White Elephant gift exchange was a hit again this year—and the unofficial theme was clear: booze and kitchen appliances. The holiday spirit is in full force here thanks to our incredible project team. Here’s hoping everyone went home with a gift they’ll actually cherish. 🎁✨

In the spirit of the season of giving, was honored to volunteer at , a no-cost temporary housing facility for patients and caregivers undergoing medical treatment in the Houston area.

This beautiful home offers 40 guest suites to individuals with life-threatening illnesses who travel to Houston for world-renowned medical care. Since 2013, The Ballard House has provided over 100,000 nights of free lodging, an incredible impact on families facing some of their hardest days.

Our AUC team served breakfast to current residents, helped prepare rooms for new arrivals, and even pitched in to repair landscaping that had been damaged by hogs. It was a truly meaningful experience to connect directly with the people we’re supporting.

Thank you to The Ballard House for the compassion, comfort, and community you provide in such challenging times. We are grateful for the opportunity to support your mission.

In celebration of Thanksgiving, AUC hosted our annual World’s Fair this week! 🌎🦃

Our office has a unique mix of cultures — including Germany, South Africa, Mexico, El Salvador, Ecuador, Iran, India and many more! It’s one of our favorite traditions to come together, share dishes from our heritage, and learn more about one another.

We wrapped up the festivities with a friendly (and competitive!) game of Family Feud. Grateful for a team that brings such rich culture, community, and fun to the workplace. 💙
