Double Bacon Cheeseburger happiness at Millers Cafe-Space Center. Extra pickles and extra tomatoes spiffed it up considerably! I've been jonesin' for a big burger for a couple of weeks and this definitely hit the spot!

Poppy seed bun so I'll avoid drug tests for a couple of days... 😁

BTW, Millers recently partnered with the Space City Foodies' Gratitude Club, the only non-profit restaurant discount program that benefits food banks to feed the hungry. Respect to Miller's for supporting our sister organization's worthy cause!

Welcome Chloe's Cajun Market !!

I'm very happy to welcome Chloe's Cajun Market in Webster to the Gratitude Club, our nonprofit restaurant discount smartphone program that benefits food banks to feed the hungry! See our positive-only food groups for a list of local restaurants where you can purchase your Club membership ( Positively Pearland Foodies!, Positively Clear Lake Foodies! & Positively Galveston Foodies!).

Chloe's is a combination between a Cajun and Creole grocery store and cafe, with daily lunch specials and other goodies such as crawfish pies, chicken cracklins, Boudin balls and Boudin egg rolls. I scored some of the pies recently and they were top notch.

I also grabbed some picked okra and picked quail eggs which are still sitting on my kitchen the counter. I'll report back with a taste impression soon (it'll be my first time with the quail eggs).

Have an amazing day, Space City!

Welcome Pomodoro's Cucina Italiana South Shore !!

I'm very happy to welcome Luigi and Pomodoro's Cucina Italiana Clear Lake to the Gratitude Club family of partnering restaurants! The Club is the only nonprofit restaurant discount e-card (smartphone app) with a mission to feed the hungry!

Pomodoro's has an extensive menu of authentic Italian food and frequently posts creative specials that change daily. I recently had a cauliflower crust pizza and grilled eggplant Parm that were excellent!

The "e-card" is a smartphone app showing discounted offers from various restaurants and other food vendors in the greater Houston and Galveston area, PLUS nationwide vendors such as AMC, Cinemark, Office Depot, Dell, Lenovo, etc. Whether you're wanting lunch or a laptop, movie tickets or motels, we gotcha covered!

You can purchase the e-card at many of our partner locations for only $20, a portion of which is donated to local food banks. Feed yourself and feed the hungry!

Cards are available for sale at the following Gratitude Club partners::

- Amy Lane (on the Strand) in Galveston
- Pollo Bravo Pearland (on Hwy 288)
- Lucian's Caribbean Grill in Clear Lake City
- CAMBO Donuts in League City
- Sawa Restaurant and Grill in Houston (Clear Lake area on El Camino Real)
- Zane’s Original in Seabrook

More restaurants are joining each week! See our website for a detailed list of over 70 vendors: www.SpaceCityFoodies.com

You probably noticed that our new additional brand and page is Space City Foodies, which covers all of the Houston and Galveston area

Welcome to the Club and thanks for your support!

[EDITOE'S NOTE: This is the most important and meaningful thing that we've done since driving all over for 2 days after Hurricane Harvey reporting on grocery store availability (with long lines and limited stocks). I wanted to give something back to the community where I've made a living in real estate for over 15 years, thus the name "Gratitude Club." So, THANK YOU! --Danny Lee]

Any carbivores in the crowd? Breakfast of champions!

Any carbivores in the crowd? Breakfast of champions!

Carbivores, prepare to get happy! My new friends Natalie and Lee, owners of Bonnie's Donut are some of the nicest people that I've met in a very long time. I love their positive attitude. It's obvious that they love their customers, and based on all the fun buzz that I've seen online about the famous 5-pound cinnamon roll from people like KHEA and Texas Chronicles: History, Mystery and Adventure and elsewhere, Natalie and Lee's customers love them too!

Now, I'm very much a carnivore, due to some stubbornly high blood sugar, so I outsourced the review! My good friend Brad with Highland Homes in Edgewater is kinda fanatical about anything sweet with lemon and/or blueberry, so I loaded up on such treats (see photo). It's been a couple of days and I've slept since then, so hopefully I'll get most of the items described correctly along with Brad and his wife Holly's feedback!

Blueberry Fritter: Brad said it was amazing!
Lemon Donut Hole: The best thing Brad has ever eaten. I admit sneaking one out of the box myself and it was fantastic.
Blueberry Cake Donuts: Holly said it was the best that she'd ever had!
Kruller w cream cheese: Excellent! (but not sure if I named it correctly)

There were a few other items in the box that were put in the fridge for the next day, but I THINK that I covered the highlights!

Be sure to tell Natalie and Lee that I said "Hi!" when you visit!

BTW, random change of topic: I'm occasionally asked why my reviews are always positive. The reason is that life is too short to be bitching on Facebook about negative experiences. We actually have THREE local Facebook groups starting with Positively where the rule is keep it positive (it's kind of a be nice or be gone zone! πŸ€ͺ). It has worked out fairly well over several years. If I'm going to have a conversation about a bad meal or dish or worse poor service, it will be done constructively and nicely with a manager. The only thing that I don't try to address is a very rare rude manager (not my circus nor my monkey, in that case). FWIW, there are some foods that I loathe and the best chef on the planet couldn't make it taste edible to me. Hints below! 😁

Check out Positively Pearland Foodies! , Positively Clear Lake Foodies! & Positively Galveston Foodies! if you're curious!
