Any carbivores in the crowd? Breakfast of champions!
Carbivores, prepare to get happy! My new friends Natalie and Lee, owners of Bonnie's Donut are some of the nicest people that I've met in a very long time. I love their positive attitude. It's obvious that they love their customers, and based on all the fun buzz that I've seen online about the famous 5-pound cinnamon roll from people like KHEA and Texas Chronicles: History, Mystery and Adventure and elsewhere, Natalie and Lee's customers love them too!
Now, I'm very much a carnivore, due to some stubbornly high blood sugar, so I outsourced the review! My good friend Brad with Highland Homes in Edgewater is kinda fanatical about anything sweet with lemon and/or blueberry, so I loaded up on such treats (see photo). It's been a couple of days and I've slept since then, so hopefully I'll get most of the items described correctly along with Brad and his wife Holly's feedback!
Blueberry Fritter: Brad said it was amazing!
Lemon Donut Hole: The best thing Brad has ever eaten. I admit sneaking one out of the box myself and it was fantastic.
Blueberry Cake Donuts: Holly said it was the best that she'd ever had!
Kruller w cream cheese: Excellent! (but not sure if I named it correctly)
There were a few other items in the box that were put in the fridge for the next day, but I THINK that I covered the highlights!
Be sure to tell Natalie and Lee that I said "Hi!" when you visit!
BTW, random change of topic: I'm occasionally asked why my reviews are always positive. The reason is that life is too short to be bitching on Facebook about negative experiences. We actually have THREE local Facebook groups starting with Positively where the rule is keep it positive (it's kind of a be nice or be gone zone! π€ͺ). It has worked out fairly well over several years. If I'm going to have a conversation about a bad meal or dish or worse poor service, it will be done constructively and nicely with a manager. The only thing that I don't try to address is a very rare rude manager (not my circus nor my monkey, in that case). FWIW, there are some foods that I loathe and the best chef on the planet couldn't make it taste edible to me. Hints below! π
