I keep thinking of Antoine de St. Exupery’s ‘Le Petit Prince’ and remembering the fox’s lessons- of all the dogs in the world, Leaf is special because of the time we’ve spent with him. I can claim credit for saying ‘that’s our dog!’ when a very scared, 💩 covered dog with serious challenges hid under a maple leaf 🍁 and stared at us with his little overbite.
But it is Lauren Anne who has invested SO MUCH in this little floofy monster. Training, exercise, LOVE, nurturing, more training, and helping this pup grow into a strong, affectionate, fiercely loyal young dog. He is Lauren’s shadow and daily work companion.

We are just so indebted to massvethospital and their amazing team for putting him back together, and to our amazing families and friends for contributing emotionally and financially to his success. Still a ways to go, but every little bit has been weight lifted. Also a huge shout out to Annie Bailey Best Life K9 Training (who worked with Leaf for a month as a wedding gift 💪🏼🙏🏼❤️), for housing us near the clinic this week, and for starting the GoFundMe.
Let’s go little guy, heal up so we can bring you home SOON ❤️‍🩹❤️‍🩹❤️‍🩹💫💫💫

Recently my Alma Mater reached out (with multiple emails) for donations to the University. Meanwhile the acting President posted a meandering, vague, and finally, meaningless letter to the community. Simultaneously our colleagues took a stand against the authoritarian idiocracy trying to topple the institutions of higher education.

These are financially trying times. Don’t come with hand outstretched when you are simultaneously bending the knee to everything we learned to be wrong in the extensive for which is famous. Don’t kowtow to authoritarianism when you ask your students to read the founding documents for this democracy. Shame on you.

I am proud to have attended and grateful for everything I was given by this proud and venerable institution. Please don’t debase the work of such alum as Alexander Hamilton, John Jay, FDR, Madeleine Albright, RBG, and by acquiescing to petty demands from a weak oligarchy. This is the time when we must rise together and fight for what is right.

Please. We must all be better.

I’ve written this post several times and feel like it never is worthy, because there are few people for whom I have so much admiration. I first met nearly a decade ago and thought: ‘what an awesome human. I hope our paths cross again.’ I’m so very grateful they did, and I’m honored to call him friend.

Yannick has faced more adversity- physically, professionally- than most of us will ever endure. His reaction has always been a focused stoicism, and rather than seeking pity or help, has worked tirelessly to create organizations and establishments that support others. I can’t count the number of times I’ve referred to Yannick in conversation as a role model for mindset and determination. I met more recently when the two of them came to visit wineries in and am so grateful for the time I’ve been able to spend with this power couple.

On February 18th, Yannick had a fall, and the shortcomings of our medical and insurance systems are leaving him and Heidi in a very difficult position. Please take the time to read this Go Fund Me request and help get them over the finish line- they are CLOSE.

What will you be doing on July 11???

Over we will be blowing open the doors of the (yeah, Ira Allen’s barn, you know, Green Mountain Boys Ira? Ethan’s little brother??) with the amazing !!

The first time we will be opening this amazing space to the public, we’re throwing a party for the first 100 to buy tickets- picture and tapas by the team, a Gin/Tonic bar run by the inimitable and , and maybe a bunch of and selected by yours truly.

Tickets are limited and available through the link in the bio. We’re very excited to see everyone walk through the newly planted vineyard to eat, drink, and dance the night away, style 🇪🇸

An overdue appreciation post for the CFO (Chief Fun Officer) of .

has done so much for this wine project since day 1, whilst also juggling her full time job as a Principal Analyst/Geologist - and this year crushed pruning, making it possible for us to be pruned and tied in all the vineyards when that seemed almost impossible.

We’ve got a busy growing season ahead of us, but the pre-season work is so crucial to making that manageable (and healthy, with delicious grapes), and Lauren has been out there with the pups, tirelessly besting us up for success. Love you, baby, to the 🌙 and back 🙏🏼❤️🚴‍♀️🏃‍♀️🏂✨

So grateful to the wine community for showing up with so much spirit, class, willingness to learn, and focus over the past three days of programs ❤️💪🏼✨ massive thanks to the inimitable and for their teaching, camaraderie, and professionalism 🍷
These courses and exams simply wouldn’t be possible without the foresight and support of and the team and we so appreciate what they do for this community. The work we do would be exponentially more difficult with the support, behind-the-scenes work and dedication of ‘s amazing . Truly a giant in the wine community here and an example of professionalism we can all hope to emulate. The team and facilities are also absolutely top notch and made a long few days feel so easy.

It’s impossible to capture the magic of this property and how special it was to be here with the beautiful - couldn’t be more grateful to the entire team for the brilliant level of hospitality
Pairing food and beverages is one of my favorite parts of this job, and working with chefs like and .bugi reminds me of all the challenges (in the best way!), as well as the joy when something works and elevates both dish and beverage.
It was also such an honor working service with and the team.
I think we’ll be glowing from the visit for a while and looking forward to the next chance we have to be down in Barnard 🍾😍🙏🏼❤️
