Woof! Woof! Read all about it! All Border Collie Rescue volunteers Lori and Melinda Rae Pope and their BCs, Ici and L'eau represented at the Westminster Masters Agility Championship this past week. How exciting to make it that far! Congratulations to them for all of their hard work with their own dogs and their recent decision to join ABCR as foster parents. Mom says that our group always needs more foster homes and she was very excited to learn that Lori and Melinda had opened up their home to help dogs like me.

I'm pretty agile, I wonder if Ici and L'eau could teach me how to run an agility course? I'm really good at jumping up and walking across the patio table in the back yard - I bet I could do the A-frame! - Stetson

Two Little known facts:
(1) It is National Court Reporting & Captioning Week (Feb 15-21) and (2) my mom, is a court reporter! She keeps me and all of my brothers and sisters stocked up on kibble and bones thanks to her court reporting business. In fact, in addition to being an Innkeeper, Rancher, and Restauranteur, mom founded and owns Carol Davis Court Reporting in Houston, TX. Woof!

National Court Reporting & Captioning Week is a way to recognize the efforts of stenographic court reporters and broadcast and CART captioner members. Court reporters work hard every day to help people access the U.S. legal system, while CART captioners give access to conferences, calls, educational classes, and television broadcasts to people who are deaf or hard of hearing.

Thanks to All Border Collie Rescue volunteer Megan Magnant for once again, putting together ABCR's end of year video which includes many of the dogs adopted in 2014, several of whom were Fosters of BlissWood residents right here in Cat Spring during their time with ABCR! I had the pleasure of running and playing with some of these dogs and many more ABCR foster dogs this past year and look forward to many more years playing with new foster dogs while they await their forever homes like mine. I got to see some snowflakes last night at BlissWood Bed and Breakfast Ranch, home of Fosters of BlissWood. I was so happy that it did not stick, because a year ago I was in the snow in Sochi and that was quite enough!

All Border Collie Rescue is always looking for new foster homes. Loving people to take care of our precious dogs, feed them, socialize them if necessary, play with them, feed them, and maybe teach them a few things and take them to their vet appointments when needed. I was so glad that Sochi Dogs: Extraordinary Strays took me in off the streets in Russia and helped me find my forever home right here at BlissWood Bed and Breakfast Ranch with my mom. She is my real mom and also a foster mom for lots of dogs at Fosters of BlissWood where she takes care of all of my ABCR foster brothers and sisters. ABCR fund-raises and ask for donations year-around enabling the rescue to pay for all of the dogs vet bills, microchips and heartworm preventative - they need YOU to invite a dog into your home and into your life while they search for the perfect forever family for the dog. Mom said that ABCR has placed over 1000 dogs in forever homes since 2009, over 250 of them have been fostered right here at Fosters of BlissWood. Mom always says how rewarding fostering dogs is and she knows that everyone can't foster multiple dogs and that is ok! ABCR is looking for people who can foster even just one dog because it makes such a big difference. Foster a dog like me ...save a life like mine. - Stetson, from Russia with love

Every January, shelters around the country fill up with unwanted dogs - puppies, seniors, and everything in-between. We get far more requests to save dogs than we have fosters to care for them. Please help us save more lives, and consider adding a foster dog to your home. We provide crates and cover all medical care. All we ask fosters to provide is food, companionship, and exercise. If you have a younger dog who needs a play buddy, we can provide a playful foster. If you have a senior dog or small children, and need a calmer dog; we can provide a laid back senior who just needs the occasional belly rub. We work to match the foster home to the best foster dog possible. I've been so busy this year I forgot to post one of the cutest things that happened this summer! I got to meet a real baby deer up close ...mom said it was a "fawn." She was abandoned and on her own like I was in Sochi, so I kind of felt a connection.

I thought ya'll would like to ring in the new year with some cute pictures of me and Mommy Carol and Aunt Jenny from this summer. Looking at these makes me feel more warm - it is cold out there and my fur coat is short. Not as cold as Russia I bet! Happy New Year everyone! - Stetson
