18,000 cattle died on a Texas dairy farm last week. They say an overheated piece of equipment sparked and ignited the methane inside the barn creating an explosion.

I question whether this was the cause, but there's one thing I know for sure.

Putting 18,000 in one building is wrong. Conventional agriculture operations have become massive and unstable.

This one company represented 3% of Texas dairy production. It's gone now.

Our food chain is unstable. Any incident can cause food shortages. We saw this in 2020 when meatpackers shut down due to Covid.

The solution...

Connect with small farms and ranches and try to buy most of your food from them.

Even if you don't choose us, please go support another small rancher.

Thousands of cows were killed in an explosion and fire at the Southfork Dairy Farms on Monday night, according to the Castro County Sheriff's Office.

Flat Iron Steak is the best kept secret. American cuisine is incredibly boring. All it knows is Ribeye, Filet and NY Strip. There are so many other incredible steaks that we don't eat!

ISO a 100-300 acre cattle lease in the Bryan, College Station, Navasota, Anderson area. Land in this area is very hard to come by since it's some of the best grazing land in Texas. If you know anyone who may be interested, please let me know. Thanks in advance!
