This year's aims to build a fairer and healthier world for everyone--just like Gold Award Girl Scout Eva Sharma did with her project.
Eva raised awareness and educated students in several rural Indian villages about quality healthcare and personal hygiene, as well as provided first aid kits containing essential supplies.
Her target was students ages 8-18 but she estimates she reached 500 people including the staff, faculty and families. With the help of each school’s administration and leadership she nominated a trusted staff/faculty member from each school to continue and maintain the instructions. Eva has been in constant touch with each school’s personnel as a part of her project’s sustainability. She and her team of 15 conducted her project before the pandemic and Eva feels her hygiene lessons helped prevent the spread of Covid.
Eva will graduate in 2022 from Clear Horizons Early College High School and hopes to eventually attend grad school at the Harvard School of Business.
