Our six 2026 lambs are growing nicely and seem to enjoy grazing. This group doesn’t seem to play as much as our lambs from previous years. All of them will be going away to another farm later this month.

Day 2 of weaning the 2026 lambs. They are still crying a lot and love the humans more because their mommas are not there to comfort them. The video is from putting the little ones in this evening. The moms in the stall next door were eating and didn’t answer the cry’s of their little ones!

As of today, we have sold all 6 of them!

It’s weaning day on Orchard Hill Farm. Our six April 2026 lambs are now on their own away from their moms. This makes for a pretty loud time on our farm. You can hear the ewe moms in the back ground calling out to their little ones.

We still have 4 ram lambs that need to find a home of their own with some nice ewes! All 4 ram lambs are friendly (probably from the Milfont genetics) and easy to work with and several of them enjoy being brushed. Contact us if interested.

Our breeding ram, Joda, striking a nice pose. He spends his days with his brother, Frank. Joda lost all of his fur this summer. We will put him back in with the ewes for breeding in November.

Tomorrow we start weaning our spring lambs.

Hello my name is Casper. Orchard Hill Farm ran out of “C” male family names because there were too many ram lambs born this year, so my name came from family research done by Mike’s cousin, Corrinne. I am named after Mike’s 4th great uncle, Casper Branner born in 1791. I was born with my twin sister, Corrinne (named after Mike’s cousin) on April 25, 2026. Our mom, Katherine, is a first time mom. She has been doing a very good job raising us. I was born with the cutest wavy fur. I have really grown a lot and now weigh 42.5 lbs. at two months old. I am a very nice looking ram lamb with an excellent build and a Roman nose (from my daddy). I am very friendly (likely from Milfont genetics) and love to be brushed a lot by my humans. I would make an excellent addition to your hair sheep flock. They say I am one of the best looking ram lambs that Orchard Hill Farm has raised.

Hello, my name is Chris. I am named after Mike’s cousin Leigh’s husband, Chris Pearson. I was born on April 24, 2026. I got to meet the human Chris that I was named after when I was about a month old. I was the second born in a set of triplets. My mother is doing a very good job of feeding all three of us and I now weigh 38.5 lbs. at two months old. I enjoy playing with the other lambs and love to be brushed and handled by my humans. I really enjoy jumping around and could probably out dance some of those “dancing” goats on Facebook. I would be a great addition to your St. Croix flock or any other breed of hair sheep that you may own.

HI, my name is Charles. I am named after Mike and Donna’s nephew. I was born on April 24, 2026. I was the first born in a set of triplets. This was the first set of triplets at Orchard Hill Farm. My mother has done a great job feeding all three of us and I am now 34.5 lbs. at two months old. At first, I was a little quiet and cautious around humans, but now I like it when I get brushed. I have also become very vocal just like my mom. I have a very unique and distinct “baa”, so everyone knows who I am when I call out.

Hello my name is Cameron. I have Mike’s great grandaddy Phillips’ middle name . I was the first lamb born at Orchard Hill Farm this year. I was born on April 23, 2026 as a single lamb. I am also the largest lamb ever born at Orchard Hill Farm (8.45 lbs. at birth). I am somewhat shy like my mother but am getting more interested in being around humans. My unique feature is one partially blue eye but that does not affect my vision at all. I’ve been eating well and at two months old, I am a big ram lamb now weighing 45.5 lbs. I have a very nice well-developed build and look forward to meeting ewes at another farm.

We are going to be posting some pictures (after baths) and stories about the 4 ram lambs we still have available, having fun writing their "bios". Most people do not realize that each lamb or sheep has a very distinct personality.

Stay tuned while our “flock” “chills” in the shade.

Right now it is 95 and feels like 105. We have kept the sheep in the barn and cover shed in front of the fans most of today so they are out of the intense heat. Supposed to be even hotter over the next two days.
