What’s a local experience you almost skipped… but ended up loving?

A dinner you almost didn’t go to.
A trip you weren’t sure about.
A tasting you thought might not be “for you.”

Those are usually the ones that stay with us.

That’s something I think about a lot with wine too.

Most people don’t skip wine experiences because they don’t like wine.
They skip them because they assume they need to know more.

More vocabulary.
More confidence.
More “expertise.”

But the best experiences rarely require any of that.

This month, we’re exploring Pennsylvania wine together in Houston—through a curated tasting of wines that surprised even seasoned wine lovers.

Not because they’re complicated.

Nobody puts Pennsylvania wine in a corner. 🍷

When most people think of American wine, they think California.
Maybe Oregon.
Maybe Washington.
Almost nobody says Pennsylvania.
That's exactly why I went.

I drove the back roads, walked the vineyards, met the winemakers, and discovered a wine region that deserves far more attention than it gets.

Some of the most interesting wine stories are hiding in places people simply haven't explored yet.

Pennsylvania is one of them.

Most wine scores tell you one thing. I use four. 🍷

Before a single bottle makes it into a Pour Across America shipment, it has to pass every one of these:

🌱 The winery grows its own grapes. No exceptions.

♻️ They farm with intention. Sustainability and minimum intervention matter.

❤️ There’s a real story and real passion behind it.

🏆 The wine earns it on its own terms. Balance, finish, intensity, complexity, and typicity.

This is not a wine club that pulls from a catalog. I drive the roads, walk the vineyards, meet the winemakers, and taste everything before you ever see it.

Pennsylvania surprised me. Three bottles made the cut.
