Pops and Matt stopped by Island Bois Food Truck for lunch today, and the guys took great care of us! 🔥🤙

We loaded up on a little bit of everything, and a few bites really stood out. The boudin was snappy, the brisket egg rolls were packed with flavor, and that Island Sauce… yeah, we’d put that stuff on just about anything. 😂

Overall, it was a solid lunch with great people and some tasty food. If you’re in the Pasadena area, go check them out and be sure to tell them The Boys sent you! 🤘🍖

Pops and Matt are getting into the tray at Casey Lee’s BBQ, and we’re starting off STRONG with the smoked ribeye and tri-tip. 🔥🥩

The ribeye was ridiculously juicy and packed with flavor. It didn’t quite knock the cold-smoked ribeye from Bar-A-BBQ off the top spot for Matt, but this was still one hell of a bite.

Then came the tri-tip — one of Casey Lee’s mainstays, and now we understand why. Best tri-tip we’ve ever had. Juicy, tender, and absolutely loaded with flavor. 🤯

Both were finished with chimichurri that took an already great bite another step further.

Hell of a way to start this tray. 👀🔥

Pops and Matt made the trip out to Flatonia, TX for the much-anticipated visit to Casey Lee’s BBQ! 🔥

And we got to make a day of it — meeting up with our buddies Marcus Frisby from Meat N Greet, Quentin Zukywich from LeRoy and Lewis, And Annie who was making her famous desserts for the restaurant that day 🤤🔥

We’ve been looking forward to this one for a while…

Stay tuned for the review. It’s a GOOD one. 👀🔥

Jason took The Boys BBQ on the road and found some smoke in Denver! 🏔️🔥

Stopped by Jordy’s Barbecue and came away impressed. Brisket was a touch dry, but had a nice bark and plenty of smoke flavor. The ribs were the star of the show — fall-apart tender with a maple glaze that hit that perfect sweet-and-salty balance. 👀

The Oaxaca cheese & Serrano sausage was another big win. Creamy cheese, a little kick from the Serrano, and even better dipped in their Ginger, Garlic & Serrano sauce.

And then the banana pudding… GOOD LORD. 😂 They told Jason they’d been working on that recipe for a month, and apparently they figured it out. That thing was damn near perfect.

Matt went solo today… but he brought a special guest along for the ride! 👀🔥

His girlfriend’s son Hudson wanted to experience BBQ the Boys way, so the two of them headed over to Killen’s BBQ and loaded up one hell of a tray. 😂🍖

And just LOOK at that beef rib. That thing was an absolute monster and definitely the star of the show. Killen’s delivered a solid tray of Texas BBQ, but more importantly, Hudson had a blast getting the full Boys BBQ experience!

Stay tuned for our reactions to the tray! 👀🔥

Pops and Matt finished up the tray at Reese Bros BBQ with the Brisket Taco, Pulled Pork Tostada, and the much-hyped Poblano Mac. 🔥

The brisket taco was solid, and we liked the little kick of heat, but we both preferred the brisket guisada taco from earlier.

The Pulled Pork Tostada was a different story. That salty pulled pork with the spicy, creamy green sauce on top of the crunchy tostada was an awesome combo and one of the better bites on the tray.

And then came the Poblano Mac and Cheese that our buddy BottleChucker has been hyping since we’ve known him… and now we get it. 😂 The poblano comes through beautifully and gives the mac that perfect balance between rich, savory comfort food and a refreshing break from all the smoke and meat.

Overall, Reese Bros delivered an awesome tray and a great second lunch in San Antonio. 🤘🍖

Lunch 2 was starting to catch up with Pops and Matt… but there was still plenty of BBQ left to conquer. 😂🍖

Up next at Reese Bros BBQ, they dug into the turkey and the brisket guisada taco.

The turkey had really good flavor, but the skin was a little tougher than they would’ve liked. The brisket guisada taco, on the other hand, was a winner. Great flavor, a nice little kick of spice, and that thick homemade tortilla held everything together perfectly.

Three bites down… three more to go. Can Pops and Matt finish the tray, or is Lunch 2 about to win? 👀 Stay tuned!

Pops and Matt dug into the tray at Reese Bros BBQ and kicked things off with the ribs and brisket. 🔥

The ribs were graciously set aside for us by the Reese Bros crew, and they did not disappoint. They were fall-off-the-bone tender with a surprising acidity that both Pops and Matt really enjoyed.

Then came the brisket, and this was classic Texas BBQ done right. Salt, pepper, and perfect ex*****on. The cook was excellent, the flavor was on point, and it was a seriously strong bite.

A great start to the tray at Reese Bros. Stay tuned for more reactions! 👀🍖

The San Antonio shenanigans continued for Pops and Matt! 😂🔥

After finishing up at 2M Smokehouse, they headed over to Reese Bros for lunch number two of the day.

Another loaded tray, another round of reactions, and somehow they still had room. Stay tuned this week to see what stood out at Reese Bros! 👀🍖

Pops and Matt finished up the tray at 2M Smokehouse with the Orange Glazed Pork Belly and the Pitmaster Helper. 🔥

The pork belly had a little more chew than what we’re used to, but the flavor was excellent and it was still a really good bite.

Then came the Pitmaster Helper, and it absolutely lived up to the hype. The creamy cheese paired perfectly with the savory ground beef, and Matt said it’s a serious contender for his Best Side of the Year.

A strong finish to a great first visit at 2M! 👀🍖
