Our Story
It all started in a small garage repair shop by James “Scratch” Olson. He was known for fixing and beefing up tractor parts for local farmers. His innovative methods saved them money by extending the life of the machine or reduced downtime by installing a part that could handle the growing needs of the machine. These “higher capacity” parts soon gained popularity and a company was born. Hy-Capacity was built upon the foundation of high quality, heavy-duty parts.
Today, Hy-Capacity remains family-owned and operated. It’s been proven that a family-owned business will consistently outperform almost every other type of business through stability and a high level of trust and commitment to both customers and employees. For three generations, Hy-Capacity has expanded and grown with these principles in mind.
Hy-Capacity was founded in 1978 as a remanufacturer of agricultural clutches, water pumps and torque amplifiers. Over the years, Hy-Capacity has expanded product lines to include new items such as seats and cab kits, hydraulic pumps, air conditioning items, front-end parts, filters, lights and many other parts for a wide variety of agricultural equipment.
Hy-Capacity’s main manufacturing facility, general offices and finished goods warehouses are located in Humboldt, Iowa. There are approximately 115 employees in Humboldt and 28 distributors and salespeople servicing more than 10,000 implement dealers and repair shops throughout the United States, Canada and Mexico.

Chris our Parts Manager thanks Hy-Capacity for their awesome gift, in these trying times.
I have received a notice that if Ido not order before the end of the year, my 15 yr old account will be inactive . I ordered Donaldson fiilters and Lucas oil from Hy-Capacity, in addition to clutches. Hy-capacity no longer carries filters or Lucas oil. Ther eis no protected territory for your dealers, so, what is the big deal???? It is not my fault that Hy-capacity stopped carrying parts I use!!!!!
We now stock Hy-Capacity LED headlight kits for 7000 and 8000-series Magnum tractors! These are a great and affordable upgrade to the old-style lights. Come pickup a set today!
Thank you Hy-Capacity for partnering with Humboldt County Development. Your continued support is appreciated.
Thank you Hy-Capacity for the turkey and Fareway gift card! This is so generous with everything that is going on in the world right now!!!
Hy-Capacity. I had a entirely new AC Compressor, dryer, expansion valve put on last year on October 1st on my Kubota tractor. My tractor is at the Kubota dealership right now & the AC clutch has failed due to a bad shaft seal which has been leaking for a long time they say & as is indicated by the pictures they sent me. I just spent $2665.17 having the AC completely done a year ago & now the entire system is shot & needs to be replaced again. This time I'm having Kubota OEM parts installed. The system that came from Hy-Capacity is just days out of it's 1 year warranty. I know the mechanic that installed it does not owe me anything because he did he job. Would Hy-Capacity be willing to refund me for the cost of the parts? I would be happy to send them back to you or pictures. I realize I'm 23 days out of warranty, but the tractor has already been sitting at the Kubota dealership for 14 of those days & the pictures will clearly show the seal has been leaking for a long time. The $1200 for the parts doesn't make me whole, but it would certainly be a step in the right direction. Please let me know.
had an account with you in 1980's. Dealer in next 30 years. Last year when I tried to Order a clutch for case ($600.00) I was told I needed to order $1500.00 To still be a dealer. I helped start your company but now You don't need my company (Diesel Equipment & Repair)
We purchased over $10,000.00 in tractor parts last year. zero to hy-capacity
Your clutches were of good quality and would like to buy from you, But cannot guaranty $1500.00
