We have found our EC, OM, Topo (Veris Technologies, Inc.) to be a very useful tool in helping us understand the Physical properties of our fields. Step 1 in balancing the Physical, Chemical, & Biological properties of each field.
Scientists found that an apparent electrical conductivity sensor (ECa) is more successful in estimating soil properties than soil core testing. These efficient sensors can accurately predict soil texture – especially at different depths, and available water content: http://ow.ly/ByNO50LFhC9

Absolutely a beautiful November day to be outside soil sampling, and doing a little “field gating”. Keeping the crew fed and energized.
South almost as far as we can go in Eastern Indiana and still be in Indiana. Storm broke up so a soil sampling we go!

Jennifer had a ladies event all afternoon at Church. Trevor and I decided to Map 100. Then service Gator, and change out some wear parts on Veris cart. The dry soil is harder and wearing out part faster than normal, just happy to be running.
Mapping Physical characteristics on some new farms today. Soil has 3 main properties Physical, Chemical, & Biological. If you do not have a quality physical map (management zones) makes it really tough to measure and manage the other two. Grid sampling takes physical and throws it out, we say it is important. Spending another beautiful day calibrating combines. We use this accurate data in FieldAlytics, we help customers with reports for crop insurance and FSA documentation. However, most importantly we combine soil test results and yield removal for most accurate fertilizer recommendations
Another beautiful yet slow start to bean harvesting. Calibrating combine yield monitors for lots of reasons. One being to see how good BW-Fusion products are performing. Continue to be impressed year after year!
Had a chance to get a little R&R before harvest starts. Headed to Nashville, Tenn. area. Met up with Kyle Owen at EFC Systems main office. EFC and their software FieldAlytics have been great partners of ours for 6+ years now.
Put together a plot of different cover crop mixes. Going to evaluate next spring with soil test from each. Out marking them in FieldAlytics Mobile app. No reason to guess, do a test! Thanks to the planting crew for all the extra effort on this job! 
Found a crack starting to appear on rock shaft. Decided to update it before it breaks down in field this fall. Too many acres to cover, to sit broke down. Veris Technologies, Inc.
Spent time this week at both Heartland Career Center & Huntington Ag. Classroom & field time explaining what Precision Ag is and how to help customers make profitable decisions. Sentera

Spent time with the Soils class at Huntington Ag last evening. Shared with students the reasoning behind soil testing. Then gave them the task of actually doing it and getting their hands dirty. Good group of young adults in this class. Titus 2:2-8

Excited to announce a partnership between Dr. Jessi Haeft (PhD Soil Scientist) and ForeFront Ag Solutions. We are now offering septic tank site work for new and existing builds.
Our team spent the day interacting with growers at Northeast Purdue Ag Center training.
Always trying to stretch and learn. 2022 is no different. Ground sprayer sprayed north to south, airplane went east to west perpendicular to rows. Once combines roll will be able to sort yield x zone in FieldAlytics software. Even able to add cost to each zone to calculate ROI per treatment. No reason to guess, do a test.

Spent some time today learning topics to bring back to our organic customers.
Jennifer and I had a great opportunity to travel a short distance to Indy for Tech Hub Live. We were able to catchup with many friends and meet several new ones. They were crazy enough to put me on a couple panals on stage. We had some fun, however we went down with a clear mission to engage in the present and be positioned for what is to come. To be that trusted support for our customers on their journeys.

Get to know a CCA!
Erich Eller on his favorite part about being a CCA: "I like to attend trainings. While the presentation materials are good, it is also a great chance to network with top notch industry folks that sharpen my skills as well. Our customers have greater confidence when working with us as we bring them relative and practical information to their farm."
Erich on what he's currently working on: "(Last) winter we were planning for the growing season - working through which acres need to be Veris Mapped, Production Zone Soil Sampled, nitrogen management, TrailBlazing crop monitoring, biological and soil health plans that drive the most profitable harvest. (Last) winter we held several nitrogen management meetings focused on N.U.E. (Nitrogen Utilization Efficiencies). We are focused on not just cutting rates, but cutting waste in lite of prices. This concept does line up with the 4R practice. We have hosted classes from high school students attending Heartland Career Center Precision Ag Program, explaining how to take classroom studies to the field. We also had the opportunity to meet with several classes at Huntington University Ag Department."

Trevor and I out flying fields this morning. We took both PHX out and flying on both sides if road. In under 45 min we flew over 600 acres. Good data and fast. Sentera
Lazy Saturday morning. Able to get 2 customers Adapt-N variable rate nitrogen going. Then have enough time to fly several hundred acres with Sentera, all before noon.
Haleigh Luckadoo and Rylee Spice (our interns) have passed their Part 107 and are licensed Remote Pilots. Good job! Sentera
The soil sampling crew is working on last set of fields. These fields had a dose of dairy manure applied after corn planted. With price of Nitrogen we are pulling PSNT to upload into Adapt-N. We have done this in past and got 240+ bu corn on 50 additional units of N. A wise man taught me the value of Purpose over Product! As you can tell I got wet finishing last field. Equipment is in field ready when field conditions are. Samples are on way to A&L Great Lakes Laboratories, INC.
