It's hard to believe that two weeks from today is Thanksgiving! Or as we like to call it Chicken Day 😂 If you are wanting to supplement your turkey with a whole chicken you can pre order your chicken with us. Just message, email, or comment on the size you would like. They are all around 5 lbs, but some are a little bigger and some are slightly smaller. Our chickens are heritage breed and are raised on pasture. They are on sale for $4.50/lb through Thanksgiving. You would pickup either at the Farmer's Market or at our farm.
We also have chicken breast, drumsticks, thighs, wings, and ground available.
If you are in need of a pasture raised Turkey you can see our friends at Hoffman Organics or Fairhaven Family Farms. They are both at the Ft. Wayne's Farmers Market every Saturday.

We will be at the Ft. Wayne's Farmers Market tomorrow 9a-1p! If you would like eggs tomorrow, we recommend that you let us know how many and which size so we can hold them for you. The demand the last few weeks has been the most it's ever been, and even with getting 200 more laying hens (800 total) we still can't keep up! As a reminder if you are unable to get eggs at the Market, you can also get them at Blessing Moon Herbs and the Health Food Shoppe of Fort Wayne.

You can also pre-order chicken and the dairy products we carry from Small Acres Farm. Just send us a message, an email, or comment below if you want anything saved. Click on our website for more info and pricing on our chicken, eggs, and dairy. See you tomorrow! www.wholesomemeadows.com

When you have a farm with animals to take care of, you don't get to take many vacations. We were thankful to be able to take a 2 day trip with my parents to see the Ark Encounter in Kentucky, and it was amazing! Just seeing the look on Isaac's face when he first saw how big it is was priceless 😊
We want to thank all of our wonderful customers- because of you we are able to make a living on the farm, and treat our children to one of a kind trips like this!

We still have a wide selection of gourds and fall decorations to choose from, local eggs, meat, honey, and maple syrup and lots more!

We have two new products coming to the Ft. Wayne's Farmers Market tomorrow! As we move indoors to Parkview Field tomorrow 9a-1p, we are going to have our meat chickens as well as fresh milk and butter from Small Acres Speciality Farms.

Chicken-we will have whole chickens, breasts, thighs, drumsticks, wings, and ground. Our chickens are heritage breed and moved to fresh pasture daily, and get Non-GMO feed.

Milk from Small Acres-As many of you know Small Acres was at the market last year, but then had to drop out due to not enough help. We are delighted to bring their wonderful dairy products back to the market.
Their A2A2 grass fed milk is minimally pasteurized and is not homogenized- this means the milk and cream are separated so you need to shake it! We will have whole milk, chocolate milk (sooo good!), and butter.

We will see you tomorrow at Parkview Field!

On Monday, we hosted our first-ever fundraiser, the Local Food Throwdown in the wonderful joined spaces at Landing Beer Company and Utopian Coffee & Kitchen. Local food enthusiasts, chefs, and producers joined us for an evening of friendly competition and inventive and flavorful food and drinks. Wow! There are no words to express our gratitude for the support from our local food community for helping make it such a success. Between the sold out ticket sales, the generous donations of fun local food-themed experiences and foods in the silent auction, and pledges to the new Northeast Indiana Farm to School Fund, we exceeded our fundraising goals for this inaugural fundraising event. Savor Fort Wayne is HERE! It’s the perfect time to show our ❤️ for the wonderful restaurants that support our local farms by featuring locally sourced ingredients on their Savor menus. We're starting with a visit to Landing Beer Company, a welcoming place they call “your newest old favorite”. We agree. Whether you dine inside, enjoy a table outside on The Landing, or get carry-out to enjoy your meal at home as we did, your meal will be hot, flavorful and prepared just the way you like it. The Crispy Chicken Sandwich was just perfect! Hot, crispy, juicy, all with a mouthwatering kick. This generous sandwich is offered with a choice of extra toppings and we chose to add a creamy fried egg from Wholesome Meadows Farm in Huntington that made it sooo irresistibly good. The Broccoli Salad tasted great as a side. The Half Pound of BBQ Brisket was nice and tender and had a great flavor on it’s own. The hearty portion was served with your choice of 4 different housemade BBQ sauces and the fresh cornbread was really tasty. The Glorious Gate Nut Brown Ale was just the right choice to quench our thirst. Since this was our first visit to The Landing Beer Company, we couldn’t resist ordering the Pulled Pork and the Spare Ribs, too. It’s such a treat to be able to enjoy both ribs and pulled pork made with local, pasture-raised pork from Gunthorp Farms in LaGrange County. Both were slow cooked to perfection and served with our choice of sauces. The sides of mac & cheese, cole slaw, and house pickles were all terrific, as yes, we have lots of great leftovers to enjoy. A slice of Goat Cheese Cheesecake made with Capriole goat cheese from southern Indiana was a smooth and sweet ending to our first memorable meal at The Landing Beer Company. We’ll be back! #ourlandourtables, #SavorFW
