A few clips from our 2026 corn harvest! 🚜🌽

We wrapped up corn harvest over a week ago, and we’re grateful for a successful season! We have a great supply of feed put away to keep our herd well-fed and our barns full of content cows all year long! 🐂

Somebody found the gum 😂

Looks convincing, right? Thankfully, cows don’t chew gum.

They’re chewing cud, part of their unique digestive process that helps them break down tough, fibrous foods.

The wild part? More than 80% of what cows eat isn’t food people can eat. Cows turn grasses, forage, and other materials we can’t eat into something we can: milk. 🥛🌱

Kind of changes the way you look at all that chewing, doesn’t it?

Happy ! 🐂✨

Today, and every day, we celebrate our Jersey herd as they are the heart of everything we do on the dairy. From producing the high-quality milk we love to their funny, unique personalities, they always find ways to bring smiles to our faces.

“Days like these are worth more than gold.” 🚜🌾

Haying season is always busy, but days like these are worth more than gold.

Putting up high-quality feed is one of the most important jobs on the farm. It helps our animals grow, stay healthy, and produce the high-quality milk we rely on every day.

With good haying weather, proper fertilization, and timely cutting, we’re able to harvest consistent, nutrient-rich feed that supports our entire herd all year long.🐂✨

Our farmer-in-training, Forrest, turns 6 today! 🎉🚜

Whether he's riding in the buddy seat of the chopper, diving into milk replacer bags, taste-testing the grain for the calves, or inspecting ruts in Vermont's muddy fields, Forrest is always ready to lend a helping hand. No job is too big (or too messy) for him!

Happy 6th Birthday, Forrest! Thanks for bringing smiles to the farm. 🥳🐂🍁

Our corn is growing! 🌽

Getting our corn planted was a bit more challenging this year, with frequent rain showers slowing down fieldwork. But between the rainy days, we were able to get the seed in the ground! 🌧️🌱

Farming comes with some challenges, and unpredictable weather is one of the biggest. We're hopeful as we look ahead to the rest of the growing season.

Our largest school group yet! 🐂📚

Last Tuesday, we had 65 2nd graders and 16 chaperones from Shelburne Community School spend their morning on the farm learning about the dairy industry.

The students loved meeting the calves and cows, and they came prepared with some great questions! We enjoyed sharing how we care for our animals, produce milk, and work every day to provide nutritious dairy products.

A big thank you to Meagan from Poulin Grain for helping with the tour, and to Jill and the New England Dairy team for coordinating this visit to our farm.

A few clips from 1st cut!🌾

Rainy weather pushed our harvest back a bit, but we were finally able to start mowing hay on June 4th.

Hay is harvested several times throughout the summer. With 1st cut wrapped up, we’re letting the fields regrow as we start looking ahead to 2nd cut. 🚜🌱🐂

We kicked off National Dairy Month by celebrating with our first school tour of June! 🐂🥛

On June 2, the 3rd graders from Hinesburg Community School spent part of their morning on the farm learning where their milk comes from. Students explored how cows are milked, the technology farmers use every day, and how we care for our animals and the land.

Of course, no farm tour is complete without a sweet treat! The morning wrapped up with ice cream, generously sponsored by . 🍦

⭐️A big thank you to Maggie Kirby from for stepping in and helping with the tour, and to Kelly Knudsen and her team for coordinating these experiences through the Dairy in the Classroom Program at .

We always look forward to spending time with students on the farm!
