I’ve been taking a break from competitions due to scheduling conflicts but definitely still staying behind the grill for backyard cooks. I love a good wing cook with the Weber Grills Vortex setup. The crispy Blues Hog dry rub and hot honey buffalo sauced wings turned out perfect.

Not our best chicken and ribs weekend at High on the Hog but our ancillaries did well!
We got our first 1st place win with the creative slider! I made a jerk chicken slider with grilled pineapple at fresh pineapple lime crema. Nicole made an old fashioned pb pie that got a perfect score. It was such a beautiful event site right on the water too - we will definitely be back next year. Congrats to Puddleduck BBQ and Big Fluff BBQ for winning the Grand and Reserve Grand Champion!

Another great weekend at a new bbq competition! Grill of Fortune BBQ took home 9th in ribs and 5th in carnival food. Grill of Fortune 2.0 tied for first again with a perfect score in Kid’s Q. The wind was not our friend and made us get a little practice with the turn in box lettuce prep in the middle of a turn in window. Big thanks to O'So Good BBQ Festival for hosting! The Blount County Multipurpose Center was nice and accommodating. What a fun way to end the day with a vintage tractor pull!
