The bunnies are just over 5 weeks old and are starting to show their personalities more. The two torts (who are does) are both friendly and hop right up to you. The black (buck) is a little shy right now. All adorable šŸ„° We may end up keeping the blue tort and the solid black.

We woke up to find that Nutterbutter had 4 babies instead of 3! We both checked the nest really well yesterday, so she either had one more after we checked or one was hiding very well. 2 peanuts and 2 healthy babies šŸ™

This week we had 4 more babies born.
Bubbles had one on Wednesday that was DOA.
Nutterbutter kindled today on day 33 and had 3 kits.
It looks like 2 peanuts and one healthy baby.
She had just delivered the baby below and was cleaning it off. ā¤ļø

Well, we had one doe due yesterday and one due tomorrow. We will see if either of them actually have babies! šŸ°

If you catch the ā€œdudeā€ at the end of this video, itā€™s my reaction to getting sprayed in the hair. You think I would have learned the first time to move the bucks to the bottom cages. Second times a charmā€¦ that wonā€™t be happening again šŸ™ƒ

I recently had someone ask if we have any ā€œcalmā€ bunnies available, and while thatā€™s a completely valid question, itā€™s not something I can confidently promise. ā¤ļø

Holland Lops are small, which can make them seem like theyā€™d be easier to hold and handle. However, the truth is that every bunny has their own unique personality and preferences! Out of our six adult rabbits, only one genuinely enjoys being held and will happily hop right up to us for attention.

We do our very best to socialize our babies from the very beginning, handling them gently and daily from birth to help them become comfortable with human interaction. However, being comfortable with handling is something that continues to develop over time. Once a bunny goes home, itā€™s up to their new family to continue building that trust through patience, consistency, and positive experiences.

The most important thing to remember is that every bunny is different. šŸ°šŸ’• While we can give our babies the best possible start, we canā€™t guarantee that any bunny will enjoy being held. Our goal is to help each baby grow into a confident, well-socialized bunny while encouraging their new families to build a trusting relationship with them at their own pace.

šŸ° Starting Litter Box Training Early! šŸ°

As soon as our baby Holland Lops start venturing out of the nest box, we introduce them to a litter box. šŸ’• Itā€™s one of those little things that can make a BIG difference when they go to their new homes!
Starting young helps them learn that the litter box is the place to potty, making the transition to their new family easier and often helping them become litter box trained much faster. šŸ‡āœØ

We also find that keeping a litter box in their space helps keep their living area cleaner and gives them a great head start on good habits.
It may seem like a small step, but we love setting our babies up for success from the very beginning! ā¤ļø
