Salem & Independence friends and family,
With great sadness we want to inform the community of the passing of Mike Radtke, one of the founders and owners of Gilgamesh Brewing and recently, Bistro Bocado.
It is difficult to put into words what Mike meant to those who had the privilege of knowing and working with him. For many years Mike gave his time, energy and heart into Gilgamesh and our community. He truly was the life of the party and created a family environment that is priceless to friends and employees. Gilgamesh has never been just a business, itās a family affair built alongside his brothers, parents and the beautiful community of Salem.
The years after COVID brought difficulties and uncertainties in this industry, and as a family business it was felt greatly by Gilgamesh. But even through these difficult moments, Mike has had the same determination, pride and care that has always defined him. We are reminded that Gilgamesh and the community it has built, is always worth fighting for.
Gilgamesh will always be more than a place to share a b**r; itās a hub for community, family and countless memories we have been blessed to share. Mike leaves behind his two children, fiancĆ© and loving family. We are deeply grateful for the outpouring love and support as we honor Mikeās life.
For those who have asked if they can help, contributions toward funeral expenses may be made through the GoFundMe page linked here. Every donation, message, memory and kind gesture means more to Mikeās family, friends and work family than words can express.
As our company motto says,
āA B**r for Everyone.ā
Cheers, Mike. You will be deeply missed and always remembered.
