Good morning! Hope to see some smiling faces today at the Greenwood Indiana Farmers Market . This morning I have tomatoe plants, pepper plants (one plant has 2 peppers already!), dried herbs grown on my farm and fresh cut herbs (cut fresh this morning!)

Fresh Herbs- chives, rosemary, sage, oregano, thyme and cilantro $2 per bundle.

Dried herbs - rosemary, sage, oregano, marjoram, 3 varieties of thyme, cilantro, coriander, tarragon, dill and carrot top parsley.

This week at the Greenwood Indiana Farmers Market I will have dried herbs, fresh herbs, tomato plants, pepper plants and some fresh radishes (Cincinnati Market variety) from the garden!

Fresh Herbs- Rosemary, sage, thyme, oregano, and chives.

Pepper plants: Ozark giant pepper, sweet banana pepper, and long red cayenne

Tomato Plants:

Peron- 3:00 to 6 oz red fruit. Great for slicing, canning and salads. highly disease resistant

Kentucky beef steak- large heirloom tomato originating from Eastern Kentucky

Black strawberry- purple, pink, and gold marbled cherry tomato with a sweet tart flavor featuring hints of grape and plum.

Dad's sunset- large, low acid, orange slicing tomato with a slight salty flavor

Amish paste- The name says it all! Great for canning, sauces, and pastes.

Auriga Cherry- heirloom variety from Germany known for its golden orange 1 to 3 oz fruits that are sweet and tart.

Abe Lincoln- a large red slicing tomato. Sweet, meaty and highly productive

Brandywine- a large 1 to 2 lb fruit with an old fashioned flavor.

Pineapple- large yellow, red, and orange marbled fruit with hints of a tropical flavor.

Indigo blue chocolate- black rich skin, small slicing tomato that is rich in anthoscience! A rare find.

Brown sugar- Russian heirloom slicing tomato that has a smoky flavor. My absolute favorite!

ALL of the plant varieties are heirlooms free of chemicals started from seed right here on the farm by yours truly 😘

Did you know...

Sage tea is not only delicious but has been used for centuries in traditional medicine. Modern research has begun to back up several of its specific benefits for women's health. It is noted for its high concentration of antioxidants and its ability to mimic certain hormonal effects. Sage contains compounds with estrogen-like properties that can help reduce the frequency and intensity of hot flashes and night sweats. It is also loaded with polyphenols, such as rosmarinic acid that help neutralize free radicals, reduce systemic inflammation and support healthy skin aging. I call that a win!

My sage is currently blooming and she is a dreamy plant. Look at all those purple flowers 💜. I will harvest some of her for this weekend at the Greenwood Indiana Farmers Market .

If you are a lady of a certain age making a tea from these beautiful blooms can help you in your transitions. I drink a cup nightly and it does help.

****Do not consume if pregnant or nursing***

This herb when used daily or in concentrated doses can cause uterine contractions. It is also used to dry up lactation so if you are nursing this is not the herb for you. Always consult with an obstetrician or a certified lactation consultant before adding herbal supplements or teas to your routine.

Has anyone tried dandelion noodles yet? 👀

Pick some tall dandelion stalks that are still flexible, cut off the tops & bottoms. Boil water and add them in. The video I watched said to blanch them but I cooked them a little longer. Google said 5 to 10 minutes of cook time. I think I did mine for five but next time may shoot for 10. They were a bit chewy but overall a great zero calorie, gluten-free substitute for noodles. I topped mine with pesto. I'm totally trying it again.

Breakfast this morning is 🔥. Featuring fresh chives from the garden it's beautiful and tasty. The farm has many herbs up and growing for the season. I will have chives and many other herbs available as fresh cut this upcoming Saturday at the Greenwood Indiana Farmers Market .
