We’ll see what it looks like after these shenanigans. We got caught in the feels seeing all the maple branches on the ground. 😔 But they are resilient! 👏🏻 Never a dull moment in the sugarbush! 🤭

🍁🧊 Ice Storm in the sugarbush yesterday! Cracks, booms, and watching branching falling 100+ feet from afar. Beautiful and terrifying. We pulled taps 3 days prior and will check the lines once it’s safe. We’ll see what firewood God has delivered for next year’s boil. 😅

⭐️Yes, there are 13 varieties native to North America. There are over 100 species world-wide! 🌎 🤩

🍁What type of maple is in our sugarbush?
⭐️Sugar maples. They are preferred for their high sugar content and known for their bright colors in the Fall. 🍁

🍁How many gallons of sap do you need to make 1 gallon of syrup?
⭐️It takes 43 gallons of sap from a sugar maple to make 1 gallon of syrup. That’s a lot of boiling! 😁

🍁What have we been up to in the sugarbush?🤔

❄️After Storm Elsa we shoveled! And shoveled some more. 😅 Shoveled paths and dug out lines in 30” snow, and we’re glad we did! The sap started to FLOW! 🤩

🌟 We’ve been boiling well into the night. Woke up to 200+ gallons of sap and more pouring out of the collection barrels on Friday. Awesome challenge to have and the Angels are getting their share. 😇 😃

🌈 Just when we think we have Mother Nature figured out, she laughs at us. 🤣 Sap is flowing, so we’re boiling away! 🙌🏻
