We had quite a run at the Amador County Fair! Champion FFA meat pen rabbit, reserve champion FFA meat pen rabbit, champion FFA single fryer / supreme champion single fryer reserve champion FFA single fryer, reserve in show cavy. Friday state fair recap. Kaya was one of 18 contestants in the FFA division (no grange division at the county level) of the best of the best master showmanship representing Amador County and Clinton Grange. While she did not make the cut for a top five ribbon she did quite well. Handled her dog beautifully(she had anxiety as we don’t show dogs in our county,) We really enjoyed cheering for our fellow district 2 rabbit youth. after the show she and Emma switched gears and went out into the fair to represent their Agriculture titles.

We weren’t expecting babies with our new buckling but we got some surprises yesterday. Cheesecake had two blue eyed doelings. Kat bumped the other does and we have one other confirmed so we will see what other babies we get 🐐

We again had adult royalty and I competed in breed ID and took the test but did not do judging. I won breed ID and Ted for first place in the test with youth who paid $5 and took the test.
Rabbits did well with variety wins in Dutch and mini Rex and breed wins with Thrianta.
As always I enjoyed proctoring the youth contests and watching our friends succeed! I however was an epic failure taking photos. Stole some of these from Tacy Currey and Nicole Rocha!

Janet Leah and I got up before 5 yesterday to attend the BVRA show in Merced. Janet came home with two best opposite s*x of breed and a best of breed Dutch and several variety wins. Leah’s lilac Dutch had best of variety in two out of three shows and Egg her blue eyed white mini Rex buck was best opposite of group in show C.
