Shedding light on the importance of small family farms & keeping them alive. All cows are descendants of the original girls here.

When your bestfriend is in trouble and you want to help them, but you realize you don’t have top teeth to chew the rope🤣. Silly silly calves.
Can you tell they’re half sisters?

Barn Question of the evening:

Do you have a favorite fair food?
(I’ll take a maple dumpling with a maple creemee on top please!)

💛CANNOLI💛, probably my heart cow. Truly love her so so much. Her personality is wonderful, and she’s oh so easy on the eyes. She’s due in exactly 2 weeks! Feels like yesterday she gave birth to Chickadee. I can’t recall if this will be her 6th or 7th baby, but certainly Cannoli is quite the queen. All our fingers and toes are crossed for a beautiful, healthy heifer and mama! So excited!!! Just look at that baby bump🥹.
Last year she went I think 9 days overdue with a heifer. I wanted to bring her to the fair as a dry cow, but I didn’t want to risk her being stressed or having her baby there.

Oh Essie, such a goofy little calf. She’s so silly and friendly. Sometimes I feel like we gave her the wrong name. For whatever reason, in my mind, I’ve been calling her Eggplant😂.

All the cows and calves are great this morning. One week until the county fair! Blossom was also bred this morning. Fingers crossed she settles for a beginning of June heifer (hopefully)!🤞

That feeling when you have a full tummy of milk, clean bedding, fresh water, grain, and hay. Tucked in by your human💛. Blaze was extra sleepy by the end of chores. Best sight to see.

Beauty wanted to say good morning😍. It’s the start of a new month! Gosh she’s such a beautiful cow, one of our absolute favorites. I’m hoping one day she’ll go over 90 points. I think she’s mad at me because she knows it’s close to the fair and I forgot to give her shots. She wanted to come. Hopefully next year, and maybe she’ll gift us a Christmas heifer that can show alongside her!

Farmer Wayne insisted on swingin on the barn pole just to give Cierra a snuggle before she went out to pasture for the evening😂. One thing you can’t deny is how much these cows love him. As they go out one by one, most of them will stop and wait for a Farmer Wayne pat or scratch. That truly is one of the best things about a small farm. You get to know each individual personality of each cow, like which ones love affection!

A much needed update on our little Lizzy🥹. For those that don’t know, Lizzy was born with some type of nerve damage, whether in the womb or when coming out. Although she is behind in growth compared to her peers, she continues to be her spunky self, teef out and all. She enjoys grooming and cuddling with her buddies Felina and Diva. She is just oh so sweet…and Farmer Wayne’s favorite.
(Also notice the cutest tuft of hair over her ear)

Everette was not a happy member of my boot camp today. Must have been something in the air today because most of the potential fair girls were NOT having it. Luckily no one did the special “Jersey Flop”, but close to it! Some didn’t want to walk at all, some wanted to drag me lol. They all got around 10-15 minutes of training camp with their heads tied. That truly makes a difference! Do you have any halter training tips to share?😝
