I haven't done a good job posting anything this year. Life has gotten a bit away from me I guess. Here are some pics. Tomatoes and peppers are doing great. Sweet onions, purple cauliflower and cabbage are also coming along very well. Once again, this year, cucumbers aren't doing good. I get one once in a while, but for some reason, they continue to die in the infant stage. I am trying to ensure I take male flowers to help pollinate the female ones so I hope I can start getting some more. Likely the last year I try and do cucumbers as they take up so much space with no real productivity.

My little octopus carrot. I recently found out why my carrots keep doing this. While it can be a few different reasons, in my case, bits because I transplant them. Carrots don't transplant well as, unless the plant can be transplanted to where the roots remain untouched and growing in the same direction, this is what happens. Still tastes good, just looks funny

Pork chop to go with the half runners green beans from last year's garden and sauteed zucchini, summer squash, and onions with crushed red pepper from this year's garden. Oh, sooooo good!

I have been harvesting romaine, buttercrunch, mustard greens, radishes, and cucumbers already. This was the first summer squash of the season. There are 5 other summer squash that will be ready in the next couple weeks. The zucchini plants are doing well, just a little behind this plant due to the cooler than normal temps we had that temporarily hurt the plants.

In addition to the romaine and butter crunch lettuce, and mustard greens and radishes that I have been harvesting for a couple weeks now, tonight I added cucumber. First cucumber of the year. So tasty!

Radishes are great picking. I have already had some nice salads, plenty more in the future.

First meal of the season that involved my garden 2025. Romaine and butter crunch lettuce and radishes from the garden combined with cucumbers, sweet onion and croutons to make a great salad. Hot Italian sausage, corn on the cob, and Swiss Chard for the main plate. Oh, so good! Great meal to bring in the nicer weather.

Well, this morning is "the moment". We have had temps approx 15 degrees cooler than normal. Has made me wish I had waited to transplant, especially the tomatoes and peppers. That said, while I will need to replace the zucchini, summer squash, cucumbers and possibly even the Swiss Chard due to too much rain, everything else survived. This is the moment they start thriving. I woke up to 46 degree temps and once it warms up,but is not expected to drop below 50 again. My garden is screaming, yay!

Weather has been about 15 degrees cooler than average for a good couple weeks. This has led the pepper plants to struggle a bit as it has dipped down into the 40s and even lower 40s quite a few nights with one day not even getting out of the 40s. It has also rained so much, I have replanted more Swiss Chard seeds inside as I am not optimistic that even a single plant will bounce back from what looks bad. Swiss Chard doesn't do well with too much rain.

That said, everything else has done well. Romaine and buttercrunch lettuces are the first two pics. Then, mustard green is the third. Then a cabbage and purple cauliflower plant followed by tomatoes, celery/ carrots, and finally potatoes. The garden is looking good overall. I am hopeful the pepper plants will start rebounding and thriving after today. Tonight is the last expected colder night (below 50) for the season- or at least the next 10 days. I am also now letting tomato flowers grow as I am done pruning those off. Always good to prune the first 2-3 tomato flowers to allow energy to go to the strength of the overall plant to produce even more.
