Story behind the hat: I was at afterschool tutoring on day, and I had some yarn and hooks with me. One of the boys comes over to me, eyes all bright and says, “Ms. Barbour, what kind of stuff do you knit.” I proceed to tell him and he immediately asks me to make him a hat. I told him I would if he drew me a picture of exactly what he wanted. The next day he handed it to me and this is the result. I’m only sad that I didn’t keep the picture he showed me. Every day since, he’s reminded me about his hat! I hope he loves it.
