Equipment maintenance is a thing. A friend asked if we can replace a couple bearings and some rollers on his skid steer so he can do some forestry mulching on his farm.

I said yes.

I have said lots of other things since then that should not be said in front of polite company.

As we prepare for the 2026 Great Southeast Pollinator Census (August 21–22), let's solve the question of "What if I don't know what bug I'm looking at?"

Everyone is welcome to join this free 2-hour webinar designed to turn "citizen curiosity" into "scientific confidence."

Whether you're an educator, gardener, Extension volunteer, or first-time observer, this session will give you the tools to identify the eight key insect groups tracked by the Great Southeast Pollinator Census.

Met another little friend! 🐸😊

We love meeting little friends while we're outside growing our little urban farm!

I pruned the plum trees the day I planted them. Just removed some dead or broken limbs mostly. Did I do it right?

Pruned the lower branches from the Plums and removed the new plums that had just started growing. And again... no idea if what I did was right. Just did it.

Messy garage, feathered Velociraptors grazing in a pet cemetery.

I stack deer carcasses during hunting season mixed with a huge pile of wood chips. Each winter and spring I let the chickens scratch through the pile. Within a few months they've eaten a ton of maggots and bugs and spread the woodchips through the entire garden area.

Methley and Santa Rosa Plums in a row! Seriously can't wait for these to start producing. I LOVE plums.

Lots of urban constraints for this life. Creative solutions sometimes work, and sometimes just make us look gross. But... we are loving it.
