We prepped the girl’s nesting boxes this weekend! Rabbits can deliver from day 28-33, typically between days 30-32 for Holland Lops.
We put the nesting boxes in with them on day 27, to give them time to acclimate and pull fur. Most people use shavings, but we use h**p bedding, due to lower amounts of dust with the baby’s sensitive respiratory systems.
Here is to hoping Cherry Mae and Jerry Thomas (both named by our 5 year old 😂) took! If they both have babies, this will be our last litter ready until December… If one of the girls didn’t take, we will give them one more try before we call it quits for a few months.
We are looking forward to seeing our other buns grow out and the babies that they can produce for us in the future! While we await that time we will be expanding the bun’s space! 🐰 🤍🩶
This little journey is so exciting! 💕

This girl started it all. She was our 4-H heifer in 2006. At 21 she has watched us navigate all that’s needed for cattle… Like an oldest child, she’s been our learning curve. Red has tested us and made us learn. She is gentle and she is wonderful and we are so blessed to still have her on this journey with us. 🐮
