We had the University of Missouri vets out last week to do some ultrasounds on our girls and draw blood for disease testing. Four of the 5 does we bred were confirmed pregnant with 2+ kids each. Our whole herd also tested negative for CAE and Johnes as well. We've enjoyed fewer chores since we have not been milking the past couple of months, but are looking forward to more babies and fresh milk in June!

It looks like it will be a few days before the sun shines again after today, so I took my time doing chores this morning and soaked up the beautiful sunrise and warm weather before the rain and snow hit later today. I love a good snow, but I'd be lying if I said I wasn't ready for spring!

Most goat owners are starting their kidding season right now, but we're just starting our breeding for the year. We've been milking every day for the past 11 months and we plan to travel some this spring/early summer so we were holding off on breeding the girls. Quanah came into heat today and I decided we had waited long enough and decided to let Diesel be her a boyfriend for the day - which made her very happy! If she settles, she will kick off our kidding season in mid-June. We will continue milking for another month then dry the girls off and have a 4-month break. We'll appreciate the downtime, but miss the milk so we've been freezing as much as we can.

Packaging up one last Christmas order. I am blown away by all the orders I received! I sold out of many soaps and made so many batches of lotion I ran out of ingredients 😳 THANK YOU to everyone that ordered for themselves or for gifts. I will have the website restocked after the first of the year and start shipping again as well.
