Who says a little rain ruins the fun? ☔🐐
We had the BEST time at Goat Fest, and reading this sweet post from Emmy’s Yummies just made our hearts melt! From splash-ready puddle jumpers to vendors selling out and setting record sales, Saturday was packed with good vibes from start to finish.
Thank you to ALL the amazing vendors, volunteers, and attendees who showed up with bright smiles and big hearts despite the weather. Our community support is truly unmatched!
Now... who thinks the goats need a Spring & Fall fest, too? 😉👇
Goat Fest presented by Generac
Words can’t express my gratitude and appreciation for all those who stopped by on Saturday, despite the rain. Joe and I had so much fun! I think everyone we talked to was just happy to be there and enjoying the festivities. We were having fun watching kids puddle jumping and we laughed because they were. Maybe it was the light hearted atmosphere, but Joe and I laughed most of the day. It was refreshing many ways over.
I always worry about how much to make and bring with me to events. For this event, looking at the weather forecast, I decided to not bake all the dough I had prepped. Big mistake.
We SOLD OUT in 5 hours. There were a few people who returned to the booth a few hours after eating samples and were sad when we had very little supply left, but they didn’t leave empty handed; I gave them several more samples for the road.
There are many reasons why I repeatedly sign up for Goat Fest. First, Friends of Goat Island are amazing and put on wonderful events (maybe the goats would like spring and fall events, too! 😉)! Communication is always open and encouraged which made the 2 hour delay run smoothly and work out in the end. A very close second, as mentioned before, are all the incredible people who take the time to attend events like this to support local charities, businesses, and vendors alike. Maybe it’s because more people in Jefferson like my baked goods, but I usually have the best luck with sales or selling out completely, when I’m able to sign up for an event in Jefferson.
I didn’t get a photo of the booth setup as we were rain soaked trying to set everything up, but the goats are still cute to look at.
THANK YOU! THANK YOU!! THANK YOU to all who tried samples, stopped by just to chat for a minute, or helped recruit more customers by advocating for us. I love seeing familiar faces across many events and hear the kind things they say about what I’m choosing to put my energy into and sharing with others. You guys are the reason I keep doing these events and I love you to pieces! Thank you, sincerely.
Thank you for having us, Melinda and the team! This is the one event I look forward to all year!
If you can’t wait until next year for more treats, I’m an email, text, or phone call away! I’d be delighted to drop off some deliciousness anytime you’d like it!
Thank you again, you are all amazing!!
