Every year she would make herself a birthday cake!

We celebrate what would have been her 119th year by sharing her foods with everyone! These foods warm my ❤️ and bring such fond memories of the past.

A bit of lasagna trivia!
Lasagna was invented in ancient Greece and was originally named 'laganon. You may know it as Pastitsio, featuring tubular pasta, spiced ground meat, and creamy béchamel sauce.
Modern lasagna, however, was created as a special dish in medieval Italy during the Black Plague.

Another fun fact: Lasagna did not contain tomatoes as those weren't introduced to Europe until about 200 years later.
