County Fair season is in full swing and our customers kicked it off in the best way at the Washington County Fair.

Congratulations to Rowan on her 3rd overall Slick Doe and Top 5 overall doe with doe sired by our keeper buck Domino. Rowan also was Reserve Champion in the Junior showmanship division.

The dust is finally starting to settle after enjoying a week in Nebraska at the 2026 AGJA Good Life Classic. The theme was 💯 Life IS good where there are kids, cattle and what we like to call “the Gelbvieh family.” We’ve been enjoying the good life at Junior Classic since 2002 and can’t imagine a summer without it.

We took 3 head and came back with 3 buckles and a banner. All were bred and raised for multiple generations at MCC. It’s always a good feeling to see these rewards, but we know success looks different to everyone.

We see the success in simply surviving your first national show. We see the success in trying new contests, regardless of how you place. We see success in making new friends and networking with other breeders. We like hardware, but those things fade. Memories last forever. We’re grateful for the good life!

We’d also like to say a very special thank you to the host state of Nebraska. The hospitality was first class. Also, thank you to the AGA staff and AGJA board for a great week. And finally, thank you to every sponsor who gives time, talent and donations for the future of the Gelbvieh breed. Thank you all for investing in the next generation.

All of the goats sold in our sale have been nominated through NSSGA and will also be eligible to show in the NSSGA show at the state fair (more details for that show to come)! Nothing beats turning out good bulls on good grass after a drought.

DMC Benjamin Franklin 83L7 knows exactly where he’s headed and he means business. This home-raised General Patton son is no doubt a growth bull: top 3% weaning, top 10% yearling, top 4% Total Maternal, and top 3% docility.

Every Memorial Day weekend, the bulls go out to pasture. We were excited to put JRI Bank of America to work this weekend.

But we don’t let the day pass without stopping to remember that the freedom to work this land, to raise these cattle, to live this life that was bought at a price we can never repay.

We’re grateful for those who have paid the ultimate price that allow us to live and ranch freely.
