We have been on a roll with our mini vacations in 2026. These past few days were spent in the charming town of Julian, CA. Just a quick 1 1/2 hour drive from where we live, but far enough away to feel like we were outside our bubble. We live visiting this little town, mostly during Apple season in the fall. But this was the first time we stayed overnight here and we found the cutest spot to stay in We got a breakfast basket delivered in the mornings, and explored their 8 acres of beautiful grounds. We didn’t attend, but they also do a wine and charcuterie happy hour in the main lodge. Instead, we found all of the yummy places to eat in town and brought 5 extra pounds home each to show for it. (We even ate a piece of apple pie and a hot fudge sundae for dinner one night at their soda shop). Highly recommend visiting this old gold mining town. Their shops are adorable and right now it’s daffodil season. I believe they are having a daffodil fair coming up soon. If you go, have lunch at Julian Beer Co. their pizza and wings are THE BEST.

We both had a small break in our schedules and took a day trip to Joshua Tree. Our hotel was exceptional, a 1940’s motel fully remodeled to a stunning new inn. We ate amazing pizza at a cute dive bar, exchanged traveling stories with tourists in the lobby over several cups of coffee & we sleep in. It was a perfect night away. Pioneertown was a lot of fun to explore on our way back with its great little old western town shops. Love having little spots like this to easily escape to for a day or two when schedules permit. ♥️ .wren

Where did 25 years go? Feels like so much has happened, but it also feels like yesterday when we said “I do.” My favorite part is that it still feels like we are playing house after all these years. ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️

Olive Grove Update: October would have been the ideal month this year to harvest our olives. We thought we might do a small olive harvest this year, but our new trees didn’t produce enough to make it worth it. The transplant caused them to go into shock, but thankfully we didn’t loose any of them. They are looking amazing and growing so quickly. Really excited for next year’s fall harvest. 🫒 🫒 🫒

✨ Why Double Cleansing Matters ✨
Your skin is your first line of defense, and every day it collects sunscreen, makeup, pollutants, and natural oils. A single cleanse often isn’t enough to truly remove it all—leaving residue that can clog pores and prevent your skincare from working properly.

That’s where double cleansing comes in:
1️⃣ An oil or balm-based cleanse to dissolve makeup, SPF, and impurities.
2️⃣ A gentle second cleanse to sweep away buildup and leave skin fresh, balanced, and ready to absorb nutrients.

This ritual not only creates a clean canvas, but also protects your skin barrier and enhances the results of your treatments. 🌿

Charlie inspired a lot of fires to be lit in many hearts. His passing has turned up the flame in my heart to live more boldly for God. I have a feeling I’m not alone in that. His fierce boldness to spread the love of Jesus will live on, maybe even more loud now.

February & March Updates - So much to share! February and March have been real eventful here on the ranch, checking off some big ticket items from our 2025 goal list. 1st - Our sweet baby Hank is growing so big. He’s a healthy and happy guy who, once he is weaned end of May, found his new home with another farm family. He’s been so fun to raise and watch grow. And his mom, Gertrude, has been the most wonderful mama! 2nd - We have talked for years about whether to remove all of our old avocado trees. While they were beautiful and a reason we bought this property (not knowing much about avocado trees), we found out the hard way they just cost us so much money in water and didn’t produce much fruit, so they had to go. We tried hard to make it work, and truth is we should have removed them years ago. So the 70 trees were removed and replaced with 3 Italian varieties of olive trees. This grove is even more beautiful, low maintenance, very cost efficient in water and will give us lots of delicious, healthy, organic olive oil. We are excited to learn about harvesting olive oil! 3rd - We sold our flock of Serama chickens. We have always maintained that everything here must serve a sustainable purpose. And while these cuties did give us lots of tiny eggs, we just didn’t need an extra flock of cute chickens. Also we wanted to rearrange the chicken coop area to be less cluttered. 4th - We brought a buddy home for our donkey, Pablo. His new friend is Pedro and is so funny. The two of them make a corky team, Pablo being so mellow and thoughtful, while Pedro is super silly. We added another goal to our 2025 list, which we will share later. But this year is turning out to be one filled with improvements, adjustments and lots of action. In the coming months, we see more enjoyment from the things we are accomplishing now. ☀️
