🍂 Fall is in the air, sweater weather is here, and that means it's time for elderberry syrup! 🧣

🫐 Elderberries simmered with cinnamon, ginger, cloves & vanilla extract. Raw honey added after the mixture cools below 90 degrees, so it stays truly raw, then frozen immediately!

The heat "rut" is on ! Once a year Icelandic sheep go into a breeding season called "rut" just like elk, and deer. You can even feel the ground shake sometimes if you are close enough to them when they are head-butting !

In this season you NEVER turn your back on any sheep! The females can be just as aggressive as the males.

What a perfect day for an ice tea while getting ready for winter out on pasture... Yes I did say winter and Ice tea in the same sentence!!❄️ 😂🥶

The sheep mob going absolutely nuts for whole oats!! Icelandic sheep do not need grain to survive, they are forage animals and will eat all different types of plant matter, I choose to use oats over sweet feed because it's a better for them then the molasses. 😆 Whole oats are a treat for these girls, this is how I build their trust and call them in off the field every now and then .
