POV: You Think You Can Catch a Goat 🐐

07/22/2025

It’s been a few weeks since I posted, so here’s a little life update from around the farm.

I give you a look at how the garden is doing — watermelons, peppers, tomatoes, mustard greens, and even some Brussels sprouts are starting to take off!

But life on the farm isn’t always peaceful… I share the story of how our bull managed to get out and spent almost a full day wandering before we finally got him back in — thanks to a couple of horseback riders who stopped to help.

On a more somber note, we also recently lost one of our goats. I’m not sure what happened, but I wanted to share that with y’all too.

Thanks for watching, and I appreciate everyone sticking with me as we live through the ups and downs of farm life.

Today was one of those days on the farm where everything happens at once! I started off heading out to grab some hay bales for the animals—prices are finally dropping thanks to the new crop, so I had to jump on it.

But of course, I managed to get the U-Haul stuck while unloading 😅 (don’t worry, I got it out).

After the hay madness, I gave y’all a quick look at the garden and shared how I recently harvested some mustard greens. Then to top things off, I tell the story of how our calf got out—but don’t worry, I got her back in safe and sound.

Thanks for riding along through the chaos! If you enjoy real-life farm content, family moments, and a little bit of everything, make sure to like, comment, and subscribe.

In this video, I pick up where I left off in my fencing project. Last time, I showed you how I built my H-brace — now it's time to install and tension the actual fence.

You'll see how I line everything up, stretch the fence tight, and secure it. I'm also showing off the DIY fence tensioning tool I built using materials I had at home. It worked better than I expected and saved me from buying expensive gear.

Whether you're building a fence on a budget or just want to see another way to get it done, I hope this video helps!

It’s not every day the farmer takes a break! Today, we’re stepping away from chores and cattle to celebrate the man who keeps The Harrison Family Farm running. Join us for a behind-the-scenes look at Tyrone’s birthday celebration—from family time to birthday gifrs and a few laughs along the way.

This video may be a little different from our regular farm content, but we wanted to share a special moment with y’all. Thanks for being part of the journey! And Happy Birthday to Tyrone!!!

In this video, I take you through the full process of building and installing H-braces for our farm fence—using cedar posts I cut right here on our land. No store-bought lumber, just good old-fashioned work and some solid trees from the property!

I’ll show you how I selected and cut the cedar, notched the posts, assembled the braces, and set everything in place. Whether you’re fencing in livestock, protecting your garden, or just want a stronger corner post setup, this is the method I trust.

Let me know in the comments how you build your braces or if you’ve tried using cedar from your land. Don't forget to like and subscribe for more farm projects, builds, and behind-the-scenes from our life on the land.

Join us for a full weekend of family, farm, and fun! We kick things off with a garden shopping trip—just me, my wife, and our youngest son hunting for plants to kick off the growing season. But things take a turn when we share a surprise on the farm: our goat had twin baby boys—and they are adorable! We wrap it all up with some good food and games from our Easter weekend cookout.

Hit that like button if you love baby goats, family time, or just a good backyard vibe. Don’t forget to subscribe for more from our little farm and family life!
