We’re excited to share the journey of bringing Goodcents Subs from Jax Johnson's hometown of Kansas City, Missouri, to our vibrant community in Katy! Jax's love for Goodcents began as a teenager, working for the franchise in Kansas City. Fast forward to many years later, she and her husband Chad moved to the Houston area, where they quickly realized that there just weren't any great sandwich shops around.

In 2023, Chad discovered a LinkedIn post about Goodcents expanding into new markets, and they recognized a golden opportunity—no one had yet introduced that famous soft bread to Texas! 🥖 Without hesitation, they inquired about being the first to bring this deliciousness to our state.

With a sense of humor, Jax and Chad joked that after becoming both an Area Rep and a franchisee, it would be “the most expensive sandwich they will have ever eaten!” Thus, the name of her holding company, “One Expensive Sandwich,” was born!

On January 8th, 2025 Jax and her self-proclaimed “Dream Team” proudly opened the first of at least 10 Goodcents locations in Texas! 🎉
