Brunch run. Always on th look out for something new, we decided to try Huckleberry’s Breakfast and Lunch in Keller.

To start, the staff was super friendly and the good service came with a smile.

The pancakes and chicken were a mixed bag. The pancakes were just okay pancakes that were luke warm. The chicken, however, was hot, well seasoned and tasty. Eggs are eggs. They were cooked exactly how we like them, so thumbs up to the cook staff.

Coming from Maryland, I don’t know why I keep ordering crab cakes in Texas. The carb cakes were hot and crispy on the outside, but the inside was a bland fishy, not crabby, tasting mush. They also had that frozen taste to them. This is a dish to skip.

When I told the waiter. He promptly cleared the plate, took it off the check and asked if I would like to try something different. No fuss, no muss. He just pleasantly fixed the problem.

Next I ordered the French toast. It was…adequate. I have to say, My ex used to make the most fabulous french toast, so I have high expectations for French toast.

The experience was good enough to prompt another visit. So give them a try and let me know what you think.

And a scale of 1-5, food was a three. Service was a 4.7.

Decided to try Ko. What a delightful treat. Dumplings and gyoza were delish. The curry fried rice with medium heat was super yummy and made the palate nicely warm. Gauge (our finicky eater) found a dish (pad kee mao) that he fell in love with. Said he wouldn’t change a thing about it. He even said it was 5 ⭐️ for him.

So come on down and give Ko a try. We will definitely be coming back.

So we tried a little Mom and Pop place in Riverside called Mica’s Taqueria. 801 N Sylvania Ave, Fort Worth. We had a ham torta and chicken tacos. Simple and delicious. We are definitely coming back.

And they can make tamales by the dozen if you call ahead.

Hmmm…on paper it all looked good. In reality…non bene. So, we started with the special garlic. It was sort of warmish focaccia-ish bread. Needed to be much crustier on the outside and definitely hotter.

In the four and a half years it took them to take our order, we watched a server grate parmesan cheese all over another customer’s food, table and lap. He was not happy.

So 30 minutes after our order was taken we were informed the POS system crashed and the server had to retake our order.

After an hour and a half, the entrees arrived. The gnocchi and chicken parm meatballs were a lost cause. Flavor was barely adequate. The gnocchi had good texture but flavorless. The meatballs were Drrryyyyyyyyyyyyyy.

The pork rollatini, while having good flavor, was tough and overcooked. The gnocchi had good texture and with the sauce was okay.

The service was not spectacular.

We will not be coming back. And the customer who had the grated cheese added to his lap said they would not be back either.

The Sicilian Butcher is one to skip. Go to Jack in the Box for better service and food.

At the suggestion of some coworkers, we tried India Grill in Arlington.https://indiagrillofarlington.com/?utm_source=goo...

We had the Samosas, butter chicken, tandoori chicken and ras malai.

It was an enjoyable meal. It was my husband’s first time eating Indian food. He quite enjoyed it and is looking forward to going back.

I also enjoyed the food and think India Grill is worth the stop if you are in Arlington TX. I will definitely be getting the samosas again. I will have to try a new entree and let everyone know how it is.

So, until next time, eat well and enjoy.
