We were pleased to host a bus load of Agricultural Extension Agents during their National Conference in Denver, CO! We enjoyed the chance to provide a glimpse into the diversity of Weld County agriculture- from flood irrigated corn to dry, sandhill grass pastures to registered seedstock production and direct-to-consumer beef marketing.

I’ve been educated and influenced by some great County Extension Agents over my lifetime and I tip my hat to all the hard working Extension Agents we met that are improving agriculture and serving agricultural families in their own counties!

A special congratulations goes out to the individuals that tied in guessing the weight of one of our fat steers. (They were only off by 5 pounds). Both Moorehead, TN and Kissinger, NC took home some Ochsner Land & Cattle swag for their accurate estimations!!

Seeing these pictures from Rylen and Tanner Kreps fist trip to Limi Jr. Nationals brought back good memories- cross country family road trips, early mornings, hot barns, challenging contests and new friends.

Sure proud of Rylen and Tanner, the skills they developed and the awards they won… but most importantly the young men they’re becoming!!

Congratulations to Stratton and Ashlyn for making it through their first Jr. Nationals as “quasi show parents!” Sure proud of how you’re investing in the lives of others!!!!

As we celebrate this milestone birthday of our great republic, we reflect on the wisdom and courage of our founding fathers, we celebrate the commitment and bravery of the men and women in uniform and we thank Almighty God for his providence, guidance and blessings over the past 250 years. May God continue to bless America!

In order for the beef industry to grow, we need young people who are passionate about the cow/calf industry.
We enjoyed hosting the Logan County Supreme Heifer exhibitors today to talk about cow/calf operations and the role of seedstock producers!

We made a trip to Medicine Bow. Wy to deliver the rest of our Lim-Flex Bulls today. We thoroughly enjoyed learning about the history of this region and taking a quick tour of the Virginian hotel!!

Branding 2026 is in the books. We were missing 2 of our “Varsity” team members (Collin Ochsner and Michael Archambault) but we recruited some hands from the “Junior Varsity” team that did a great job!

We put a few miles on the truck and trailer this weekend delivering cattle to customers from KS, OK and Texas.
I’ve always said, we’re not in the cattle business selling to people, we’re in the people business selling cattle… and we sure enjoy the people part of this business!
