My newest ice cream flavor is a hit! Peppermint chocolate chip ice cream, made with real mint leaves and crunchy peppermint pieces. 😋

About to put in an order for paper containers to get ready for summer ice cream sales!

This half dozen (plus extras) went home with a customer today! 7 Marans with some nice speckles and purple blooms with one Cream Legbar thrown in.

Candled my first batch, and fertility was 63%! 🤠 I’m pretty happy with that for the first set of eggs.

I set more eggs this morning, all from this week, so in another week we will see how much higher fertility is. 🤞🏼

As a side note, look how pretty this cranberry juice is! 🤩 My favorite juice to make (and drink).

Chick info:

Hatch date for my first batch: 📆 April 11th

Second hatch date: 📆 April 18th

🐣 After I have filled outstanding orders, all available chicks will be posted here for local pickup.

💰 Pricing: $8 per chick, all breeds.

🐥 Chicks will be marked by hen’s breed and s*xed to the best of my ability.

I am still doing test hatches, but fertility looks good so far, and I’m candling the first batch tomorrow! 🤞🏼

Breeds from both hatches will include Salmon Faverolle, Cream Legbar, Easter Egger, Welsummer and Barnevelder. All are under my Splash Ameraucana roo, so offspring will be Easter Eggers and olive Eggers with some speckles!

🥚 Hatching eggs: currently I can only fill orders for half dozen BYM. I can take a limited number of breed/color requests per week, but please know I can’t fulfill all requests. If you are interested in any, please let me know soon.

💰 Pricing: $10 per half dozen, with extras

I will have a breeding pen set up soon and I’m planning a month of bantam Salmon Faverolles, then a month for my Ameraucana roo over my blue egg layers and marans.

Eggs are in the incubator!

If all goes well, they’ll hatch April 11th.

I’m starting with Cream Legbar, Easter Egger, Barnevelder and SF eggs, all covered by Splash Ameraucana.

If my roo is homozygous blue, then resulting chicks will lay blue, olive and speckled olive. Most will have a beard, feathered feet and muffs, Legbar crosses may have a tuft and all will have some interesting coloring!

Stay tuned to see who hatches. Everyone who contacted me for chicks will be able to claim in the order I received your message. I will reach out to you when chicks are ready.

I originally advertised them as straight run, but I will be doing my best to s*x them based off of markings, growth and feather patterns.

Anyone waiting for hatching eggs, please understand this is my first test hatch to determine fertility. More hatching eggs will not be available until I have at least candled this first batch for development.

We have finally made it to 2k followers!

🥹 my little farm has grown so much in the past year. I've honestly been doing this for several years but finally made the decision 2 years ago to really start shipping my eggs and chicks out to others, before I really just sold locally and just enjoyed my birds (I do hoard a lot of chicks but what breeder doesnt?). That's also when I made the decision to really get serious about growing my page and getting my name out there.
