K5 Farm added a Charolais Bull to our operation today from the Wardensville Bull Test Auction. We are looking forward to seeing how he does!

Thank you Thomas Mouser with Mouser Charolais for providing a beautiful animal to the sale.

Had the crazy idea to acquire bottle calves this year. When asked why I got the second one I said “ I’ve got two bottles and two hands, just makes sense!”

First calf of 2026 hit the ground and he’s a big ole bull calf! Always the best time of the year when calves are dropping. Looking forward to more in the coming weeks!

K5 Farm now has a cattle working system! After much studying and review of other cattle corrals this is what I came up to work best with my existing infrastructure. I missed out Sunday on taking some videos of the cows first time through the system, but it worked great! Big thanks to Derek Alt of Pyramid Farm LLC for helping me build the system and work the cattle. This system will allow me to expand my herd with the ability to work cows, separate calves for raising and butcher. More update on infrastructure to come!

K5 Farm just welcomed 3 more Black Angus heifers to our herd. They are enjoying the the green grass after a winter in the feed lot!

Another vision of our farm has come to fruition!

After a few months of on and off work, I have finished my 8,500ft fencing project on K5 Farm. This fence will allow us to rotate our cattle and increase herd size. We will be able to utilize more pasture and naturally fertilize our land.

The next step in the process of improving the farm is frost free watering stations! More posts to follow on this!
