38th Street Eats Central Texas!: Week 3

This week, we found a truly unique spot: Pampanga’s Country Cookin! This food trailer is serving up a delicious and unique take on comfort food with a Filipino twist. We tried their flavorful lumpia, the savory Hunter sandwich, and the one-of-a-kind Sisig Fried Rice.

The Sisig Fried Rice was an absolute standout! We ordered it spicy, and it did not disappoint. The rich, umami pork flavor permeated the entire dish, making it something we had never tasted before!

We were also impressed by the customer care from the owner, who was super friendly and answered all our questions. We both rated their customer care a perfect 10/10!

What do you think, Central Texas? We'd love for Papanga's to join our community. Should they become a regular part of 38th Street Eats?

New Series Alert: 38th Street Eats Central Texas!

We're back for another Thursday food review, and this time we found a hidden gem! We stopped by Bebo's Pizza, a Puerto Rican pizza truck right here in Killeen! You don't see many pizza trucks, and we were immediately impressed by their huge menu and unique toppings.

We ordered the Meat Lover, and it was incredible! It came out hot and fast, and the toppings were abundant and delicious. The crust was exactly what you want from a homemade pizza—crispy on the edges and soft underneath. Noah even said it might be the best pizza he has ever eaten!

Our combined rating for Bebo's Pizza is a solid 8.59/10!

New Series Alert: 38th Street Eats Central Texas!

Get ready, Killeen! Noah and I are launching our new series, 38th Street Eats Central Texas, where we'll be trying a different local food truck, trailer, cart, or canopy every Thursday and sharing our honest thoughts. Tell us in the comments which spot we should try next!

For our first review, we hit up Gogi House TX on Trimmier Ave. You can't miss their vibrant blue truck! We were greeted by the owner's son, who was super friendly and had a great attitude. He was happy to answer our questions and even recommended a few things.

We tried their wings and the Gogi tacos. Noah, a true taco fan, absolutely loved the tacos, but I, being a little more traditional with my Mexican food, found them to be an interesting new twist!

Now for the real talk:

The Fries: Holy smokes. These were, in my humble opinion, the best fries I have ever eaten. Perfectly salted with an incredible crunch. A solid 10/10 from me.

The Wings: We ordered the wings with fries, but you can also get them with rice. At first, I thought they were a little too sweet, but after a few bites, the flavor grew on me. They were cooked to perfection, and the meat came right off the bone. Noah loved them from the first bite.

The Veggies: The wings came with a cup of crunchy carrots and bell peppers in a savory liquid. We both thought they were great and the liquid was surprisingly flavorful.

Here are our official ratings:

Noah's Ratings:
Fries: 9
Wings: 8
Tacos: 8
Veggies: 10
Daniel's Ratings:
Fries: 10
Wings: 8
Tacos: 6
Veggies: 8

Overall, we both agree that Gogi House TX is a must-try. Our combined rating for this spot is a strong 8.75/10!

We would love for Gogi House TX to consider joining us on a regular basis. What do you think, Central Texas? Should Gogi House become a regular part of 38th Street Eats?
