Avant Gardener Farm

Avant Gardener Farm We are a small, aspiring farm on the banks of the Rappahannock River in King George, Virginia. A place that unites old and new to create a very special place.

Avant Gardener is a living experiment in small batch farming and riverside living. Welcome to Avant Gardener - we are a small, aspiring farm on the banks of the Rappahannock River in King George, Virginia. We aspire to:

Grow - Using regenerative agricultural methods to grow Lavender and other herbs commercially and a variety of produce for personal consumption. Create - Renovate our home, and mo

re importantly, share our whimsical creations - from native floral arrangements and wreaths to herbal creations. Heal - Get back to basic foods and preventative medicine, and spend more time outdoors plain and simple! Learn - Learn about land stewardship, home renovations, and a little bit of homesteading

Gather - Share all that our land has to offer. Serenity, Peace, and Beauty. Borrowing the simplicity of a earlier time, we aim to nourish our minds, bodies, and souls. We invite you to join us on our adventure of Small Batch Farming and Riverside Living. At the heart of Avant Gardener are Steph Scarola, Judd Carrier and Lukie - our little Pomeranian with a big personality. Steph is a native New Yorker, a 'Recovering CFO, who left big corporate to start various businesses. Judd is a Marylander who lived in the midwest for a few decades prior to returning to the East Coast. Steph & Judd met in 2015 and lived in Northern Virginia until 2023 when they decided to take a leap towards realizing their dream. Avant Gardener was a dream without a name since soon after Steph moved to Virginia.

At Farm Fest, we debuted and sampled our Peony Jelly Strawberry Kiss Jelly for the season. Hand harvested peony from our garden transported into a delicate, sweet (but not too sweet) floral jelly with a hint of strawberry. We are nearly sold out - with about 10 jars remaining which have been stocked at the Gardening G**s farm store.

Peony jelly pairs well with mild, creamy cheeses - think Brie or goat cheese, vanilla ice cream, a variety of baked goods (as a topping or filling) and can be used to infuse a floral note in craft cocktails, mocktails or hot & cold tea.

Catch the Gardening G**s on the Today Show this morning! Proud is an understatement - it has been an amazing honor to watch Kevin & Dragan build their dream - from such humble beginnings to the beautiful, and ever growing and expanding farm they have. It isn’t ‘just’ a physical location, their farm has become a nucleus for the community in every sense of the word. They are an inspiration and my mentors in our marathon to bring Avant Gardener to life.

Love you guys!

Sometimes life has a funny way of reminding you just how far you've come.

Monday morning (June 1), we'll be appearing on the Today Show during the 10 o'clock hour with Jenna & Sheinelle.

As exciting as that is, we've spent a lot of time reflecting on where this journey started. A few vegetables growing in containers behind our townhouse. A dream that felt much bigger than our experience. Long days, hard work, plenty of mistakes, and a willingness to keep showing up even when we had no idea where the road would lead.

Never in a million years did we imagine that our little gardening hobby would grow into a 27-acre Farm, a thriving business, an incredible community, and opportunities like this.

Tomorrow isn't just about us. It's about our family and friends, every person who has visited the Farm, shared a post, bought a plant, attended an event, offered encouragement, or believed in what we were building long before anyone else did.

We're incredibly grateful, deeply humbled, and excited to represent Gardening G**s Farm and our community on a national stage.

Thank you for being part of this journey. We hope you'll tune in tomorrow morning to NBC and celebrate this moment with us.

💚
