Universal have announced the official name of the new UK park!

The resort being built in Bedfordshire will be called 𝗨𝗻𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗮𝗹 𝗨𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗞𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗱𝗼𝗺 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗼𝗿𝘁, and today they’ve also given us some more details (no, sadly we still don’t know what IP’s they’re bringing)

Some of the key points from the announcement:

✨ Universal's parent company, Comcast NBCUniversal, will invest more than £5 billion during the expected five-year construction period.

🎢 A further £1 billion is planned to be invested during the first ten years of operation.

🎟️ The UK Government is committing £1.3 billion towards transport and infrastructure improvements to support the development and the wider region.

✨ Around 28,000 jobs are expected to be created, including nearly 20,000 construction jobs and 8,000 operational roles once the resort opens.

🎢 Around 80% of employees are expected to come from Bedfordshire and the surrounding area.

🎟️ More than 100 people are already working on the project in the UK.

✨ Universal has received over 33,000 expressions of interest from people wanting to work on the resort.

🎢 Universal estimates the project will generate almost **£50 billion** for the UK economy by 2055.

🎟️ The development is expected to attract millions of visitors every year, including more than **one million overseas visitors annually.

✨ The resort is expected to open in 2031.

For those of us who have been following the story since it was announced, this feels like another big milestone, but there’s still so much more to come!

I’ve realised this account is basically just a collection of things that make my inner child ridiculously happy.
Theme parks. Themed drinks. Park nights. Questionable financial decisions involving novelty cups. The feeling of being excited about something for no reason other than it’s fun!

💔 Heartbreaking news for Disney and Star Wars fans. Legendary voice actor Tom Kane has passed away at the age of 64 due to complications from a stroke.

Disney Parks fans will recognize his iconic voice as the narrator for the "Happily Ever After" fireworks spectacular and the safety announcements on the Walt Disney World Monorail. He was also a massive pillar of the Star Wars universe, famously voicing Yoda in "The Clone Wars," Admiral Ackbar, and so much more.
