ANOTHAA ONE 🤍

Our sweet Mini HighPark is officially PREGNANT! 🎉

She was artificially inseminated, but what makes this even more exciting is that we used sexed semen, which gives us a much higher chance of welcoming a HEIFER (baby girl)! 💕🐄

Don’t mind her muddy self! She was out enjoying the last few days of rain… which we so, SO badly needed! 🌧️😆

One of the hardest parts about leaving for vacation isn’t packing… it’s leaving all of our animals behind.

We’re so incredibly thankful to have the best neighbors who step in and love on our animals while we’re away. It gives us so much peace of mind knowing they’re in such good hands.

It truly takes a village, and we’re beyond grateful for neighbors who treat our animals like their own. Thank you for allowing us to get away and make memories with our family while knowing everything back home is well cared for. 🤍

You already know what time it is… 😏

Day 21 is approaching for our ladies! 🐮✨

If you’re new here, a few weeks ago we artificially inseminated (AI) our cows, and now comes the waiting game! Around Day 21, we’re watching closely to see if any of the girls come back into heat.

These are Estrotect patches. They stick to the ladies lower back and are designed to show signs of mounting. If a cow comes into heat and is mounted, the gray coating rubs off and reveals a bright color underneath.

If the patches stay gray, that’s a good sign they may have settled and could be expecting calves next spring! 🤞

Now we wait… and trust me we are so excited & impatient 😬 stay tuned!

With the heat advisories in effect, we’re making sure the animals have plenty of fresh water, shade, fans, and lots of time to relax.
These fluffy Highland coats are perfect for cold weather… not so much for North Carolina summers! 🥵 So we’ll be keeping a close eye on everyone until this heat wave passes.
