I discovered that my wife, whom I have married for 10 years and known for more than 15 is a madwoman and I don’t know how to handle it!
You see, I have an iPad with the Magic Keyboard (not my brightest shopping decision, but that’s another story). As it turns out, Apple with its infinite design intellect, decided that the keyboard does not need an “Escape” key. But I need one. Thankfully, in the settings, you can remap another key as Escape and I chose the one that I assumed is the least used key in the keyboard - Capslock.
Thank you for bearing with me so far. My wife recently borrowed the iPad to do something that couldn’t manage on the phone. She immediately started to complain that her password didn’t work on the iPad but it works on the phone.
This intrigued the hell out of me. I asked her to login again in front of me - error. Okay, she must be typing something wrong, so I asked her password and typed it in myself - and it worked! Now we’re both amazed. I log her out and ask her to try again - error!
What!? I ask her to try again, this time watching her fingers with a burning stare of a 40W bulb! This is when she reveals the horror! I start questioning everything in life.
So, this is what was happening:
Normal people trying to type “A”: Hold down Shift and press the A-key.
How my wife types “A”: Press Capslock. Press A-key. Press Capslock.
Of course, I am to blame because I (yet again) change things and not inform her. In my defense, WHO THE HECK uses Capslock for typing 1 letter!?
37, M. Shoe size 45. In hindsight, should have just bought a banana instead of the Magic Keyboard.
P.S.: The keyboard has its utility, I haven’t been able to justify its use for the price I have paid for it. 🙃
