Do you wish you had more flowers blooming right now? Do you want more colorful, low maintenance perennials? Plant some yarrow! Easily grown from seed or divided, these beauties come in many colors (white, pastels, vibrant). Add these to your flower bed give it a more romantic or cottage garden look. Oh, and of course they make a wonderful cut flower with a long vase life.

As we transition from Spring to Summer over the next month, I am in a hurry to get all of my farm projects done before the energy draining heat gets here. In the meantime, we’re still enjoying the beautiful spring blooms and crisp mornings. Happy Friday flower friends 💕💐💕

It’s a great day to celebrate and practice gratitude. It’s the first day of May. The Flower Moon (full moon) will appear in the sky. And it’s Friday so 💐 to some

Do you ever wonder where the flower name Peony comes from? Peony has Greek origins and means “healer” from the name of the physician of the Greek gods, Paiōn. As a flower, peonies are used to signify riches and honor in Chinese cultures. So now we have more reasons to love these beauties 💕

Good news/bad news post: Bad news is…Late winter and early spring are usually the wet season for us here in East Tennessee, but we’ve been in a drought period (or perhaps it’s permanent) since last summer 😏 TVA drops the river level during the wet season so drawing water from the river is more difficult in this time. Good News… The River is rising towards “summer pool” now and my access to water should improve by the end of the month. So I hope to have bouquets by May 🤞🏽

Who needs AI generated photos when real life is so beautiful? I only planted a few tulips (in a container) this year, and they are just for me! You don’t have to be a big gardener to just plant a few flowers in a container to brighten your day.

It looks like the growing fields survived the severe thunderstorm last night. I went ahead and cut some of my early bloomers (hellebores should be cut after seeding) and covered some bulbs with buds in preparation for freezing weather for the next two days. I do love Spring 😁, but it keeps me busy 😅

Do you have a favorite clematis or one that you have had for several years? I “divided” mine yesterday and put it in a bigger pot. Once the roots are mostly soil free, I “untangled” the roots based on the vines growing upwards (see photos of stages). Once separated (there were potentially 6 plants but I just divided to 2 plants), cover roots with soil to the base of the vine. Happy growing 🍻!
