We just introduced Nash, Daisy & Sage into the same area as the kids. They did very well other than having to calm Nash down just a bit. He’s only 15 months old so he’s just a very big puppy and he thinks he can play with the kids. All in all it was a success!!

This is Daisy and she was born in December of 2018. She’s special and I truly don’t know what that entails. I’m not sure if it’s neurological or physical. She’s very stiff legged but she does get around as well as my other goats.
Daisy is a Pygmy and needs to be around goats about her size. I’d like to sale her because she’s aggressive around my new kids and they can’t really defend themselves very well at this age. She’s a bit skittish, not as friendly as my other goats.
She needs to be in a fenced area and have at least one goat friend. I don’t believe she needs to be bred.
I have had her vet checked and they couldn’t find anything wrong with her.

Well...it wasn't such a fun day today at The Funny Farm. Penny was the last of my does to deliver and she had a sweet baby girl at 10:00 last night. Chris and I knew something wasn't right. The kid cried and cried and wasn't able to stand up or hold her head up. We thought it best to let Penny take care of her and really thought she might not make it through the night.
I went out this morning and she was still alive but not acting any differently than she did last night. With the guidance of Megan and Google I brought her in, checked her temp and began to warm her with a blanket and heating pad. I was able to milk Penny so that I could try to feed the baby with a syringe. I'd tried several times to get her to nurse from her Mom but she just couldn't suckle.
Megan and Emma came down to help me out and we worked with her for a few hours then called Valley Vet in Knoxville. It took them about 45 minutes to get here but were so helpful. Baby had a cleft pallet and the vet also thought there were neurological problems. He felt it was best to euthanize her which we did.
All in all it's been extremely emotionally draining. As I thought that baby was better off not being in pain I went out to check on all of the goats just before dark and Penny was searching for her baby. It's just been a sad day.
Thankful that Megan and Emma were here to help physically and emotionally.

Finally!! Fern had her babies sometime during the stormy night. Two little girls.
I was totally confused when I went in to check on them all this morning. They look so much like Lucy’s girls, Licorice & Lilac. I thought that’s who they were. But, I knew Fern looked so much smaller she had to have had her babies.
Finally figured it out. You’d think the Crazy Goat Lady would just know 🤣

I’m a wife, mom, nan, business owner, friend, daughter and sister. I wear lots of different hats. I’m a business woman but at heart I love being on the farm with my grands and goats.
We bought goats several years ago for our grands to play with but normal size goats scared the them horribly. So...I sold them and bought Pygmy’s. Less than three years ago I started out with four Pygmy’s and hopefully once my doe’s get through kidding I’ll have twenty this spring.
Needless to say, I need more room to roam. Hubby says if we’ll buy a bigger farm I can have ALL the goats I want. Sounds like a plan to me!
I plan to post pics and videos. My goats give me pleasure, make me happy and make me smile. I hope it does the same for you!
