Small batches made with love ✨
I’ve been doing a 1:1 ratio of our homegrown CBD and coconut oil. The oil is highly concentrated in hopes of helping with pain. The flavor is earthy and slightly bitter when taken on its own. I prefer putting a tsp of it in coffee or tea.
First, I start with decarboxylation. Oven preheated to 240 for 30 minutes stirring every 10 minutes to prevent burning. I go ahead and add my oil to the crockpot while I’m watching the CBD in the oven. I use unrefined, cold pressed coconut oil for even more health benefits. When the decarboxylation process is done, I crumble the buds into the oil picking out the larger stems (not necessary, but I’m making it with love). Temp needs to be between 140-180 and oil needs to be infused for at least an hour. This part can be done with a double boiler if you’d rather. I highly recommend using a digital thermometer and keeping a check every so often. Lastly, the messy part, straining the oil through cheese cloth. Store your oil in the refrigerator and or kitchen cabinets. Coconut oil doesn’t go bad and CBD if stored properly doesn’t either. If the oil isn’t stored in the fridge, the CBD may oxidize and turn to CBN over time.
