I like to post smiling, sunshiny 🌞 pictures... but we all know that's not how most days are. Most days are just average. Some days are really low and some days are really high. You know how it goes.
Well, running a small business is that way too. And today was one of those "lower than average days". This morning was awful with pouring rain at 2 drop offs, which results in wet cloths, which aren't very fun when you still need to work. And then there are all the other facets of a business to keep an eye on and deal with challenges as needed - equipment, products, technology, bookkeeping, customer service, warehouse, logistics, administrative work, short and long term planning, and the list goes on.
You're never "done" as a business owner. It's a little like being a parent: once you have your "child" you are always responsible.
But don't get me wrong, it's not all challenges. 🙂 It's exciting to be able to build something out of nothing. To create a solution to a problem people have. To work hard and know you have done your best. There's a lot I would have done differently over the last 12 years of building this business, with what I know now, but I wouldn't trade the experience and what I have learned along the way. It's been one of the biggest honors of my life to build Naturally a Deal!
