It’s been one of those weeks where if I don’t laugh, I’ll cry. 🫣😆
On Friday-the day the walk-in was definitely NOT getting fixed-I had a customer come in while I was already juggling a million things, trying to figure out where to put hundreds of pounds of butter, batter, and everything else so I didn’t lose thousands of dollars in product and labor.
And then that customer proceeded to give me some honest feedback that would knock the wind out of the sails out of any baker.
Honestly, I just wanted to close the shop, go home, and cry.
Owning a business can be fun but there is SO much stress that comes with it. The things people see are the fun parts-the cakes, the treats, the shop-but there are plenty of days behind the scenes where you’re just trying to keep everything from falling apart.
And then today, I had multiple customers genuinely ask me how I was doing, knowing I’m still dealing with my back injury on top of everything else. They took the time to thank me for what I do.
Thank you to the people who take the time to be kind to me and my team. Thank you to those who genuinely care. Thank you to the people who see that there’s real people behind the counter.
Kindness and genuine encouragement feel more rare than they should sometimes.
So if you were one of those people today, please know that your words meant more to me than you probably realized. 🥹🫶🏻
