We decided this year to try a new form of winter feed. We are planting grain milo with the intention of strip grazing it standing this winter. Grazing the Milo should cut back on winter hay feeding, ultimately lowering winter feed costs.

It’s been awhile since we have posted but we have been busy. We have been blessed with lots of summer rain and the grass is growing like crazy. The girls are loving it! We are about 2 weeks out from calving so things are about to get exciting!

This year we are experimenting with poly wire. We are using it to split the main paddocks into smaller ones. This will increase the stock density per acre, which we hope will give the pasture a more even graze.
